That IS the problem people have with it.

The music is dull. IMO anyway.

I dont know why people would want to go out clubbing to 'background music' personally :) - You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who could have a conversation about the music or the scene outside of 'eeeh a luv the new hed kandi cd like'. I can see what its all about i think though, its not so much about the music but the 'scene' of seeing and being seen - so you cant really compare it with say, promise.

Its just how you look at your nights out, do you go out to listen to the music and talk to loads of people.... or do you like dressing up and being seen as 'cool'. Different strokes for different folks.

Music wise its fucking gash like :D

That's absolute pompus nonsense. Just cause it's not your thing or even mine it doesn't mean there are people who don't love the music as much as you might do.

I'd like to bet that the average hed kandi punter knows alot less about the music, the scene and the dj's than the average promise clubber craigB.

The time they spend teasing their shark fin hair into place and choosing that perfect belt to go with their ton and a half jeans is offset by the amount of time they spend on the music.

    Simple science craigB  :D

Fact is there an internationally renound club. They have residencies all over the UK & Ibiza, must be doing something right.

Anyway, your one to talk about image and vanity, you must do at least 2-3 sun beds a week.

    2-3 sunbeds a week - what the fuck?!?!?!

Im not ragging on anyones right to have a good night out - and for those who go to hed kandi and enjoy it, good for them.

BUT, the whole hed kandi 'phenomenon' is just watered down, easy to listen to music, which is duplicated en masse and carefully positioned for maximum popularity in as many towns that can handle it.

There must be a new hed kandi cd out every bloody month, with the same clever try hard marketing and imagery to give the right impression across of what buying into the shit that they are peddling, and eagerly lapped up by the punters who ram the clubs and bars out every time theres an event on.

The problem is, for me, that its a clubbing BRAND, and the more popular it gets the more it looks like the next gatecrasher, cream, godskitchen where people go to it not because they love the music or the clubs, but because they just want to be part of the scene.

Im not holier than thou when it comes to where i go and who i listen to, but Hed Kandi is the clubbing equivalent of a Big Mac meal with supersize fries, eaten from a plastic tray with a paper menu underneath it - its wholly manufactured and big business to the max ....

Having said that, the eye candy there is ace (the one and only time i went) ;)

There only doing what every promoter strives for surely.

It's a short life span for a club like that and making the most out of it whilst it's 'in' makes fucking sense to me.

It's just like any other band or label.
