    :(

Christopher Reeve (Superman in case you didnt know) died of a Heart Attack yesterday.

Total inspiration to everyone i think - His dedication towards trying to recover after being paralyzed was nothing short of amazing.

Thats such a shame after his long fight to try get back to health. He IS superman in my eyes, and thats not just i grew up watching him in the movies - but for the continued work he did.

Although people die from this type of thing everyday - it touches you more cause u feel like u knew them.

    RIP

inspiration? i didnt see him doing much to help those charities before his accident?

surely thats being selfish by donating and raising awareness only of a charity that affects him? he would never have done that if it hadnt of happened in the first place!!!

fair do's the good he has done but you cant say it was a selfless act!

you lot seem to admire him so i reckon i will just sit with this kitchen utensil in my hand and wait for it all to kick off :D

i'm sure he did do plenty of work for charities before hand, as do most celebs, but being a campaigner for spinal reseach while completely paralysed from the neck down seems pretty good to me. as i also pointed out in the first place, it happens to many other people every year too

    er yeah but its selfish???

all im saying is there is no way he would of put that much time and effort into campaigning and raising funds if he wasnt a quadraplegic himself. he raised awareness for a means to an end ie; he wanted to get better and find a cure so he raised awareness of it.

personally i think people who dedicate thier lives for no other reason than to help people deserve more appriciation than him.

maybe, but his situation gives him a unique perspective and the experience that he knows what he's talking about to do something about it. he was bound to be able to raise peoples awareness by rolling himself out and saying 'look at me' rather than trying to do something about the homeless or something...

sometimes you've got to have a little faith in humans...
