to produce dance ive gotta be jimi hendrix :(

just went for my interview today for music production course at college, seemed to be going great, i filled in all the sections on the sheet he gave me. I then came to the question, have you ever produced/composed any music, i havnt produced dance so i wrote that i used to play guitar.
now to get on the course hes expecting a tape send to him for tomorrow with me playing fucking guitar, i havn't touched it in over 6 months   right i better get cracking i suppose :(

Is this at Newcastle College/John Marley Centre? You should be alright anyway, after all, you are there to learn how to produce music, not play guitar.

Just whack some Steve Vai onto a tape, that'll sort it :D

Or quickly learn a few power chords and get some proper distortion going, and say you only play Norwegian Death Metal.

Or just learn summinck easy that sounds good (M Manson's version of Sweet Dreams & RHCP's Under The Bridge spring to mind, also owt off of Nirvana Unplugged)

Or just try ur best and tell him that you haven't played in ages.

    :)

Forgot they'd built the new music centre. When I did my ND/NCFE it was at the John Marley Centre.

Juste xplain that you want ot make dance music (is John Campbell the bloke in question?). I didn't need to be able to play an instrument when I started, jsut told him I wanted to do it as an extension to my DJing.

it was mr john lewis i had to see, he seemed canny enough, i know theres a few sets tho, people doing djing, instrumental etc, if he tries to push me towards playing guitar instead of producing dance ill kick off lol
