    Your Driving Nightmares!

I was driving to work this morning, needed to be in the far right lane....was a big enough gap, so I started to go in, noticed the guy behind blatently trying to close the gap....but went in anwyay and gave him a wave, and he gave me the finger

I just waved again. With two fingers.

Clearly no need to be such an arsepiece

Anyway, it gave me an idea for a thread, and here it is!!

So whats your own driving nightmares...road rage etc! :D

i have had too amny to mention....the funniest was some bloke who was in the wrong lane on a road & then shouted at me after trying to ram me off the road by cutting in...he even follewed me to traffic lights to pull along side me wind his window down & scream '[YOU FUCKING IGNORANT, FUCKING BITCH!' i laughed called him a prick & then tottled on my way!

ken & i nearly got rammed off the motorway by some prick on our way back form london....he drove up Kens arse so we moved over & gave him the finger as he passed us, he then swerved so we had to (hoping there was nowt in the next lane along) or we were in trouble big style...he then tried to motion for us to follow him off the motorway...i think he was going to pop a cap in our ass!

I went down a hill, narrowly missing 2 trees either side of me!! Was like something out of a movie, but my class driving skills got me through it, still don't know how I didn't topple over!! :spangled:

i love winding other drivers up. The way i see it - whats the point in getting angry and shouting/gesturing back? the other person just knows they've got a rise out of you. Don't bite! i always now 1) pretend i'm short-sighted and swerve over lanes when they're behind me. 2) pretend i'm doing my makeup in the mirror and slow right down. 3) Blow them a kiss and wink. The 2nd ones work great with big burley drivers in their vectras or charvers in their jazzy novas and corsas.

u can see their faces turning red and they get even more wound up. You can then drive away smiling to yourself knowing you've turned the tables!

    lol, ykts!

last thing i did was some boy racer in this crappy punto, wasnt even done up, just had a thing on the exhaust to make it louder. anyways he cut me up rather dangerously by the traffic lights on the gateshead side of the tyne bridge nearly crashing into sum1 else, at the next traffic lights we were both at the front and i revved the engine to which he went thru on red thinking he was the boyo, only for me to pass him at the next traffic lights, he was bright red.

when im getting tailed by sum1 who looks like a cock and gets right close to the back end i drop right down to the speed limit and then touch the brakes randomly, just so the lights come on, when i have absolutely no need to break and watch them shit themselves.

My recent driving nightmare involved me with third party insurance and a 500 pound excess.... crashing into someones crappy 700 quid escort writing both of our cars off.

I lose 2 grands worth of car, and end up having to give the other person 700 quid out of my own pocket rather than give them 500 and lose our no claims bonus.

Been reeling from that one since January :(

insurance sucks doesn't it? u pay it so if owt happens u don't have to pay. but you do anyways and u then have to pay for years afterwards.

it's a shit system. i blame "Claims Direct" and other such bandwagon companies...

    lol exactly.

The thing that gets my goat is, that if a 19 year old with no NCB, and a 40 year old with full NCB have a similar crash, the cost of repairs etc are going to be the same.

YET the barstools quote me over £1200 for a bloody 1.4 Polo, and thats after driving for two years on my mums policy and not making a claim, WITH pass plus and TPFT!!!

I was gonna buy a car as a runabout for £300....insurance would have been over a grand.

It's a piss take, but nowt we can do about it :(

Luckily for me I aint crashed yet :)

well apart from flipping the car not much really, i did lose my car keys on the beach at alnmouth at a party last year, luckily i didnt have the car with me, but i didnt relise untill i went to leave to go home from a mates a day later:(

im with MOS, i love winding up knobhead drivers, the traffic light trick always pisses them right off.

my mate had a nightmare the other week some pissed irish numpty walked straight out in front of his transit on the tyne bridge, smashed off his windscreen, kid went to hospital with a fractured skull

Out in the sticks cool as fukk gang! :)
my dad and myself have slight issues with road rage so to speak... perfectly good driver, but if someone does something to the pops on the road then there is GOING to be hell on... on more than one occasion ive had to dive out the car, drag him back to his seat to prevent him from doing something stupid.

to be fair - whenever he has kicked off he has had good reason, people deliberately cutting him up, pulling the stop on him etc... but still...

the one which sticks in my mind was this:

we were pulling up to a roundabout, some guy comes screaming past us, launches in front and locks the brakes up, fucking stupid move, nearly smashed us going past and then nearly got smashed by us as he locked the brakes.

can tell there's gona be hell on, dad overtakes the car on the roundabout on the inside lane, launches in front, locks the brakes, and is halfway out the door... look on the guy's face was priceless tho... looked smug as fuck when he went past, but by now he was bricking it (which is fair)

good job i was there to 'calm' things down tho...

Scenario : Your stuck behind someone hogging the fastlane. Bloke behind gets miffed and decides to undertake both cars. Old biddy in front finally moves over (oblivious to anything behind). You match speed with biddy so undertaking tosspot is boxed in. Continue for 5 miles. Result!!

to be fair theres nowt wrong with undertaking if someone is hogging the lane when you clearly want to be past.

    WOW!!! MAJOR OFFENCE!!!

Lets face it here, if you are on a dual carriageway/motorway and someone is doing 50 and you want to get past, would you really sit behind them if there is a clear lane??? I VERY much doubt that the poilice would fine you for that, a slap on the wrist at best.

If its blatant disregard to the rules of the road, chopping and changing between lanes, then thats a diferent thing altogether and is something that I would not do and would like to see more people punished for.

it's not about chopping & changing lanes it's about undertaking you muppet...it is very dangerous & can cause nasty accidents.

i don't agree withthose drivers being in that lane either cos thats also dangerous but to undertake is just stupid...ur not only risking ur own life but others too.....they're not going to b expecting u to undertake (since it's illegal)
