    Mature Students?

Does anyone know at what age you are officially considered a mature student?

    Any help appreciated :)

Defo 21, but you can only get into Northumbria. Unless you've got amazing qualifications already. Northumbria take on more mature students than just about anywhere. Newcastle take on more private school kids. Every Uni gives themselves targets to meet for certain age groups, school background ect.

    surely because your only 19?

wait until your 21? - you wont have to pay fees (assuming the system doesnt change) and you'll only need minimal qualifications...

thought you where going to do medicine? or are you doing bio-med?

As a mature student I'll still require those A Level qualifications, or, in the case of Manchester University, an Access to Medicine Certificate from one of the City's Colleges. By the time I start University I'll be nearly 22...

If I were to go now, I'd need AAB in Chesmitry, Biology & Physics, an AS in Mathematics and would need to resit around 5 GCSEs!

I have a few options anyway, some a little less demanding (but still related) than medicine

All depends on which university you wanna go to, theyve all got different criteria for what they class as a mature student. Most places it 21 though.

Newcastle uni had massive widening participation target, and takes on loads of mature students. mainly cos they get paid loads more by the government to do so.

AND, ive got loads of mates over 21, and they still pay fees. I think you still have to pay fees.

Scotland is better than England in most aspects these days IMO.
