Big one off events have a shit atmosphere most of the time. I personally prefer smaller venues. The people tend to be more friendly and off it!!!:D

every big event ive ever been to always seems to be a huge let down. they always seem to be a huge anti climax and never really that good, despite how much everyone seems to look forward to them sooo much!...so many problems with big events:

cost to much, normally the sound systems are wank, full of nobbers, stupid drink prices, the good dj's always seem to overlap...the list goes on..etc

4 me, a night a good club, with some good djs and a friendly crowd is far far better than travelling for hours to get to big events..club nights are cheaper and normally far more enjoyable!

i would have said weekly nites are better as events sometimes just dont have the same sort of feel...but then SSnorf is monthly and that is just as good...if not better than any weekly nite!

crasher will do fine monthly mefinx

i'm guessing the promoters just dont make as much £££ though with club nights...

Normally Cramlington, but barcelona this yr
its just my opinion but i reckon that since the reason he says this is because crasher will make more money by doing this big monthly thing, weekly costs of running crasher must be high what with dj´s getting paid a fortune and all the other overhead costs and i bet 70-80% of the people that go there wont be spending a fortune while there in there, maybe a bottle of water that will be filled up at the tap in the bogs, by having a montly night it increases its reputation and so demand will increase and then they can charge you more to get in!
    ahhh its all makes sense!
i´ve been in spain for 6 months and i can tell you that i miss my weekly night at promise, its a chance to get away from that monday to friday shit,
IF IT WASNT FOR THE MUSIC I DONT KNOW WHAT I´D DO!

never been to SS (only hear good things about it tho), but me thinks, although sad, gatecrasher goin monthly will still be wicked.

heard something about the promoters of crasher changing the music policy away from trance once again...is this true?

only ever really enjoyed one big event, probably due to the fact i was in awe of the scale of it more than anything else!! all the others since then have been let downs.. give me a small up-for-it club anyday over a faceless event.

i don't like big events cos it tends to bring in people who wouldn't normally attend but act like they own the place.. i.e the charv majority

I know this sounds harsh but big clubs like GC, Cream and GK (who put on big events) are responsible for making dance music more mainstream! Thus record companies churning out shite cheesy tunes under the genre of trance! Big events also attract the wrong crowd and give the industry in general a bad name!

I don't think that weekly clubs have had their chips. Gatecrasher has been on the edge of going monthly for a good while.

It's a shame (about Gatecrasher going monthly) but I don't think that all the other 10s of goodish events that go off every weekend in the UK are suddenly gunna fold.

I think people tend to like to do stuff that they think is 'trendy or fresh',

I don't believe that most young people in the UK (who actually go to dance clubs each week) think Gatecrasher is anymore.

I personally don't go to festivals, I prefer clubs to tents (for clubbing in that is) and I think I always will.

all i can say is feck off mr crasher.

big events are shite, they attract beer boys.

weekly events draw a regular crowd, mostly people who are there for the same thing, for the music, not to be able to say "oooh, i went to crasher/promise and paul van dyke was on, he had a song in the charts once didnt he?!?!"

or, "oooh,l im going to promise's second birthday coz mario picuton is on, n its open til 6"

sorry if this sounds offensive, but yes, big events draw crowds, but not really the kind of crowds we r looking for, if club land is dying, its because of these big one off events, people are saving their money and instead of going to their regular club, they are going to the big events, just to be able to say that they've been to them, well fuck off, we dont need big events, i think club land is fine as it is, and all the big events should fuck right off, back to ibiza or something, sorry if this sounds harsh, but its how i feel!
