    new venues

foundation is good but I reckon ncl is in need of a new venue badly... a new home for promise instead of blagging shindigs patch on a friday... best thing about foundation is location- just far enough away from shIteKON and liquid...

I think its good enough where it is - and the venue itself is what makes the club quality ;) ;)

    Were going underground...

I have a blinding idea! Perhaps the jolly owners of the Passenger Transport Executive, who run the Metro, would be willing to allow a huge dance event at the bottom of the escalators at Monument station, which is quite underground.

It would only cost hundereds of thousands of pounds to bring in lights, sound, security and a dancefloor.

Imagine the luxury of getting the Metro right into the club! How wicked would that be, we could even get Day Raver Returns!

On the down side, banging music might effect the moles that live alongside the tunnels, causing them to roll out of date cheese scones onto the tracks, which could cause a Metro to derail, sending it on a collision course with the chill out room!

It makes you think, doesn't it?

    Re: new venues

there was a thread about this a couple of months back i think! More people then seemed happy with the venue, I still really like Foundation as a venue, I couldnt imagine Promise anywhere more suited than Foundation.
Also, it aint really "blagging" shindigs patch, shindig has different music policy and is on a saturday anyway! Clubs like foundation need their club nights such as what they have, it aint about "blagging" another club night "patch", its about being a venue to host club nights.....................like PROMISE, which in my opinion suits very well! :D

    Does babooshka blag godskitchens patch?!?!?!?

Promise and Shindig have distinct music policies, atmospheres and crowds... They just share the venue... Foundation isn't my favourate venue, but it is my favourate north east venue.. I can't think fo a venue in newcastle which promise would be better in... could you? Unless someone wants to fork out over a million squid to build a new super club :D

Since the lighting/visual improvements I think promise is far more exciting.. It goes from being a dark firty proggie club into a bright flashy trance club in the blink of an eye... nah foundation is good :D

    Metro's again!

I dont want to seem as if I'm trying to push the Metro system onto anyone who is not a user, but, dont these people unwilling to pay for a taxi know about Manors Station and it's geographic location to Foundation?

Or am I just an old war horse who shoots from the hip?

    Tee hee!

    calm it!

    I like foundation.
    I said it was good.
One word - PILLAR! enough said.

Your right to say you can't imagine promise at any other location in newcastle, nor can I, where would we go? play***ms? (excuse the language) Thats why I said ncl is in need of a new venue... it is... a NEW fuck off venue... might convert some of the more open minded cheesers of the quayside...

whoever said "is babooshka blagging godskitchen"... have you ever been to code?????
    http://www.godskitchenonline.com/gallerys/code.htm

if promise and shindig shared a venue of this quality id run butt naked thru the bigg on a saturday night...

and as for the "underground" tag that some people seem to give foundation/promise, it isnt really that "underground" just look at recent line ups - and write ups in mixmag, ministry, 7 and m8.

shindig only won "underground club of the year" cos mixmag cant bow into the pressure of the superclubs...

Everything I have said might seem to belittle promise but honest, im not. Promise IS friday and always will be... wherever it is itll be awesome...

manors metro station would be pretty good if u like foundation -lots of pillars!

I FUCKING HATE THE PILLARS! (of the construction variety of course)

    Hang on a minute!

Of course! How foolish of me! The perfect place to have a club would be the airport!

To hell with an underground vibe, go for the fully visible, yet easy to land option!

Imagine the luxury of getting a flight right into the club! How wicked would that be! The fun to be had on those escalators is nobodies business!

And, dont forget, the Metro runs directly into the airport!

Ha ha ha! I can see it all quite clearly, I can, I really can! [Pant!]

    Ha ha ha!

    Ha!

    Ha!

    Hee hee!

I'm going to get back to my homework. These assignments are not going to write themselves.

Code is just like a long foundation with two wicked lazers?!?!? it has the same sort of balcony, seating up on the balcony, square dark boxy feel... I was just pointing out how pointless your shindig blagging comment was... Promise has fuck all to do with shindig just like babooshka has fuck all to do with gods... they just share the venue!!!

This isn't the shindig website... I'm not saying shindig has an underground feel... I'm saying Promise has an underground feel... everyone comments on this - talking to the journalist from m8 the other day he came out with the same comment...
