They did this on a few estates round here when i was a young hoodlum....nobody ever went in at 9 and there was rarely any police driving round to enforce it. If anything it made us worse.

this is the fucking stupidest law ever...

They wont be able to enforce it as they have a hard enoguh time enforcing real laws.

Even if they did enforce it it wont solve shit, most young offenders aren't young offenders cos the clock strikes 9, they're young offenders because they have problems.... any youth worker will tell you this.

    Curfews are a fucking joke.

Its another typical western policy to treat the symptoms of the problem, rather than tackle the actual cause.... with each passing year we live in a world with rapidly diminishing social responsibility,....... when your a kid you look for outlets for your emotions, urges, hormones etc - unfortunately the scum element of society take it out on "the streets"... As joe said, locking people up doesnt take away their problems.

Same goes with ID cards, rather than tackle the root of terrorism, war, poverty........ what do we do but enforce some 1984 esque regieme to somehow "improve" things.

    Balls to that.

How about the government spend some money trying to instill some sense of concequence to young people today, and respect for those around them... i'd gladly be shafted each month by the inland revenue for that, instead of another bunch of Missiles to shoot some towelheads with.

In the short run, i think curfews will have a positive effect - but in 2004 this shouldnt be how we're advancing as a planet.
