    20k for Sasha...

Supposing it was 20 grand for Sasha to play at Promise (remember that it was a 4 hour set), it would still be possible for the PRs to get him in- if the club holds about 1300 people and they charge £25 a head that's er... um... cant find a calculator... £32,500 or thereabouts, depending on the turnout. Then there's bar staff and other DJs to pay for the night but they'll be making a fair wack on the amount of drinks sold.

So the question lies: "would people be willing to pay £20-25 for Sasha?" I know I would. Still, they could make a gamble and charge say £17 a ticket as with Picotto and hope they make their money on the alcohol. The guys obviously know what they're doing.

But, I dont reckon 20k is an accurate figure as there's always rumours about what cost what etc. All we need is for Promise to hold a special night, like the 2nd birthday and most people will flock to it.

Would "OO" Fleming go down well? Ooooh I'm starting to cream...

    Re: 20k for Sasha...

No. I defo wouldn't fork out £25 just for sahsa. I'd pay the £15/£17 if someone else was on that I knew I'd enjoy. Fink most people on the board would be in the same bout.

I've no doubt sasha would fill the club if he played....and I'm sure a lot of people would pay £20 to see him....but don't fink many of the promise regulars would be there, so I suppose it wouldn't really be promise would it... ?

    sasha

when he played last year, it was 16.50 for a ticket, and the club was heaving, totally packed.
foundation itself makes all the money off the bar, promise gets all the door takings.
i know bcos my girlfriend works at the club, and thats how the takings are shared.
if the promoters made all the money, what wud foundations owners have to gain from allowing nights to be held there?
if sasha came back, he would undoubtedly fill the club, bcos, despite popular opinion, he is regarded as one of the best in the world.
john oo fleming has already played promise, i think he is due back in july.
he is very well regarded by the promise masses

of course it wud still be promise, just cos it aint eddie halliwell or matt hardwick, the atmos and feeling wud still be the same.
it doesnt have to be the harder edge of trance and house for it to be promise.
i thought the whole point of promise was to have a wide range of styles, to cater 4 all tastes?
personally, id be gutted beyond belief if promise starts booking the tidy boys, anne savage etc, cos my favourite djs r nick warren, pappa, tiesto etc.
it wud however still be promise, despite who was playing

Good point on the PR/Foundation earnings side... I never thought about that properly!!!

Cant wait for Dave Seaman, that's gonna be mint!!

Would still pay £25 to see Sasha though. £16.50 sounds good, but surely it couldn't have cost £20,000 to book him in in that case, as the rumours suggest?
