I think he is concentrating a lot on his own night at the moment, maybe in this country most of the nights he plays are his own, but he still plays a lot of other nights all over the world.

I know a lot of people who are well into their techno (some might even say "purists") but I know very few who have anything bad to say about Picotto. I think there is a general feeling in trance circles that he is disliked by techno fans but I don't really think it is the case.

Maybe a couple of years ago when he was making his transition from BXR-style techno to propper techno....but not any more...

    :)

He's definetly gradually gaining more respect. It was always going to take a long time to shake off the Lizard tag and for some people he never will

I think opinions of him have changed massively in the last couple of years, there are 'purists' on other messages boards (including his own) that used to go on just to slate him but I know that his DJing style recently and his last few productions have changed their opinion a lot. It'll help that he has the likes of liebing/bailey playing at his nights and many well respected techno jocks playing his productions but IMO he has always been good at what he does whether it's trance/techno etc. he's got a lot of people into techno that wouldn't have ever listened to it.
