    Who Actually Did Enjoy Picotto?

just out of curiousity, as there are lots of arguments on this board about picotto and who enjoyed his set.

So, to wrap things up and conclude on whether he was liked or not i thought id post this poll. Cos there is obviously a borderline somewhere between groups of people in Promise for Trance and Techno.

Maybe this poll could start an "intelligent" argument of whether the techno sound of picotto is maybe the way forward or something different. I mean can trance carry on, or is it gonna die soon, cos to be honest, i like me trance, but how much more can it go on, i think the producers are running out of ideas cos there doesnt seem to be many massive releases lately, seems to be dwindling.

    Discussions here please....

(this may help you out Mark when considering the music styles for Promise - just a thought... or at least it provides you with some research and input)

yeah i know that mark, wasnt on about the booking side of things...it was just there are posts dotted all over to whether they enjoyed him or not....just sort of showing the difference sides of trance and techno.

its just a discussion of where the music styles of clubbing are moving to.

Are people wanting something different already - ie picotto and techno, or do we all still love our trance and it will never die?

its a discussion everyone in the music business is on about at the moment, and what the movement in the next sound will be.

Just thought it would be nice to hear some arguments from the promise faithful and what their views are, thats all.
Apologies mark if you took it the wrong way, never meant it like that - i lvoe picotto, and cant wait for the return!!!!! GET IN!

I aint going to lie, as regardless of my own personal thoughts the amount of people through the door proved what a success Picotto was, last time mauro played promise was one of my top 3 nights at promise, this time he did little for me...

I thought matt was amazing and the night in general was wikkid... I've never seen Promise so busy was like walking into a new a club - its about time promise got that level of recognition :D :D :D Well done...

Mauro just didn't do it for me, preffered matt, keri and corvin :D

I was enjoying his set, then it all just seemed to go wrong. Waited out a lot of it for Matt, found some of it quite tedious. I appreciate he really tried to work the crowd.

I just didn't rate that set too much, nothing to do with techno - i love richie hawtin... one of my bestest ever tunes is magicdog - mirror mirror... But on friday I couldn't get into his set.. didn't help that I had super dooper paranoia and spent most the night scowling at everyone ;)

I will be there no doubt in november as last year mauro played one of my bestest ever sets...

see now this is better opinions and views...instead of many posts spread all over the board wasting space.

so it was just his set you couldnt get into, fair enough, i cant wait to see him again in november... and this time im saving myself, and cooling down beforehand!!

he really does heat the place up....... :)

I enjoyed what I heard of his set, but I was too busy flouncing around talking to people for most of it to really have a considered opinion! Corvin did it for me on the night though. Hardwick was good, a bit light for me ideally but I still flailed about like a complete arse!

Agree with joe. I love techno and I love picotto but that weren't the best set I've heard him play. He wasn't shite and I think the people saying he's shite probably don't like that sound anyways.

this is exactly the discussion i wanted.....

you made a point there, is it people who dont like picotto saying his set was shite because they dont like the sound, or did he actually play shite!!

Steve spoke to picotto the next day with a private drink with him, dalek, steves boss etc and Picotto admitted he had a nightmare!!!!!!!

Not to spoil the way the threads going but i fookin loved Picotto's set, he did make a couple of mistakes, but what the heck, he had me on the dancefloor for the best part of his set, i do like his style of Techno and i'm glad to hear he is booked again.
I didnt think he was as hard as he was the last time, but i really enjoyed his set.
