Although some people on the board may disagree with the comments written by TranceyDJ, I do feel that some of the replies are rather aggressive. As for "you are a cunt" or "I think we should have another meet up next week and meet up with this twat", what do you expect to gain from this type of attitude? The guy is likely to turn up at Promise and put a few noses out of joint, and let's face it, you won't be able to say he wasn't intimidated.
Remember, message boards are an extremely powerful tool and should be used as such.

I'm with Euphoria on this one... Although I think what TranceyDJ wrote was a pretty arrogant and unintelligent comment - how does it help by hounding him off the board? Everyone loves Promise because its a friendly club... Yet as soon as someones opinion differs we're all cunts towards him?

I have been clubbing all over the country and I would rate promise in my top 5 clubs... I'm bored of huge clubs like crasher and gods - they do little for me, you don't feel part of a club like gatecrasher - you wander round in your own little world maybe smiling at a few loved up randoms (but mainly getting shunned off the cybers in crasher) but not really feeling part of the club - Promise is very different you walk around promise feeling part of the club... Your not just another face, you know everyone and if you don't know them most are more than willing to get to know you.

I think where you've missed out TranceyDJ is you've never come to a meet-up, nor do you frequently post on the message board... infact I think I've only seen you at promise twice... I'm not saying you have to come to promise every week to appriciate it, but your missing out on what everyone on this board loves about promise - so just like you comment on people being niave for rating promise - your niave for dismissing them.

I love everything about Promise and Fridays turn out showed I'm not alone, your entitled to your own opinion but people ae entitled to theirs... I know you've said your retiring but I'd be interested if you told me which clubs are better than Promise..

the line up was actually put together due to the "promise awards" thread which was about fave dj's at promise, picotto, dalek and hardwick came out top so thats what we got, and a very good night it was.

Maybe the reason you dont feel part of clubs like crasher is cos you dont go every week and join in on the message board the same way TrancyDJ doesnt do that with Promise?

The only way you know everyone in Promise is cos you go all the time, but to someone who has just came in off the street, the little group of ppl that know each other may seem like a little clique that only talk to each other therefore the person will just do as you do in crasher and wak around in a world of their own smiling at a few randoms.

The only reason most of the ppl off this board think that the club is sooooo friendly is cos they know everyone off the board.

Just trying to show the other side of the coin. Perhaps this message board is creating too much of a clique instead of an open place for ALL people to discuss Promise related things.

P.S. I love Promise and i've never had any hostility, just trying to show how others might see things.

Gatecrasher is not as homely a club as promise, in promise everyone seems to know everyone and its very easy to talk to randoms your first time there.... where as at crasher the regulars are intimidating and rarely approach new people.

but by recent events a lot of clubs that stay open longer than this cant afford to run every week anymore!!!

i go to promise and crasher just about every week and promise is a much friendlier place!!everywhere has their cliques but promises is a much bigger one and you soon get to know everyone!!

maybe for you joe but i see crasher just as friendly, as promise...im no crasher kid but ive found it just as easy to make mates in crasher as i have done in promise...the more you go, the more people you meet...both clubs have their groups though too

everyone has been harsh to trancey dj for him expressing his opinion...maybe his choice of words were wrong but what it seemed like he was tryin to say was that alot of people on here talk about how they think promise is the best club in the world...when they also say how they have never been anywhere else for them to be able to make this judgement

agree entirely with FENCE SMASHERS comments though...everyone on here thinks promise is the friendliest club ever but until u get to know everyone it probably doesnt feel that way...it aint hard to make friends though really is it?

I've never met anyone who found promise an unfriendly club, but I know hundreds who find crasher unwelcoming... You tell us in yur first paragraph you aint a crasher kid, yet you used to do the bus and you go almost every week... you haven't gone to promise that long but I'd be surprised if you thought you weren't a promise regular.
