More Bad News For Sundissential Kiss Da Funk - "It's on everybody's lips" It's 2004, a fresh start for some and due to a few minor changes, a re-birth and name change for the UK's leading house night - (No.1 night in UK, Dec 03 - Mixmag). 'Kiss Da Funk has arrived! Behind it are two of the main components that made up the successful night that was 'Funkissential', DJ Rob Tissera and Tolley. Rob and Tolley have decided to branch off and re-group, marching into 2004 with a fresh approach. Get ready to pucker up...'Kiss Da Funk' is going to be the sexiest and most raucous night around! "'Kiss Da Funk' will contain the same DJs as we had at the old night with the addition of some of the UK's most exciting new talent. Our intention is to make every aspect of the night bigger, better and stronger than the fantastic event we were already running. 'Kiss Da Funk' will still be held at Mission, Leeds on the last Friday of every month and we will be looking forward to entertaining the sexiest crowd in Britain." Rob Tissera Some sweeeet comments from the boyz... I'm very excited about the prospect of putting my heart into something that actually belongs to us. Opal Fruits became Starburst without changing the ingredients; 'Kiss Da Funk' - Tolley We are both excited about the future of the club we started over 2 years ago. The transformation from backroom to a stand alone night with Rob and Tolley at the helm is amazing. A new name for a New Year makes us feel all grown up. Adam (Trophy Twins) So, there you have it.... 30TH JANUARY 2004 KISS DA FUNK @ MISSION, HEATONS COURT, LEEDS. ROB TISSERA THE TROPHY TWINS DAVE & HUEY TOM NEVILLE MARC LEAF
so he should madders WAS sundissential he made it the madness what it was..it went downhill the less madders was involved!!
so basically funkissential is gone.. rob and the others have started a new night? where does this leave sundiss as far as a funky room goes? not that its gonna have a main one at this rate...
Exaclty, there going down faster than a lead balloon ATM, they'll need to pull something pretty special out of the hat to keep the night going at full strength.
i can sundissential goin' monthly at brum an that'll be it..a shame but change is for the best..usually?!!
God knows, but Sundissential are having reg meetings with punters & any help you can give them to save there bacon would be a great help to THEM!
its been coming the tidyboys are plugging their own nights an they dont really get the DJ's everyone wants to see anymore..new years day was a shambles everyone was on the boat including the "missing DJ's" that were supposed to be there but instead were partyin' on the boat..i know as i seen the lot of them all night..
I used to love Sundissential so much and when it came up here that really was mint but as with alot of things it promised more than it could deliver. Madders is a great guy, he gave me my first big set and always kept his word. I never met any of the others but heard bad things about some of them. The fact its gone down the pan is because they did the same thing over and over again and people didn't want to pay £20 a go to see an event that was very similar to the last. I was a regular at North, just like Spence, since 1997/8 and had some awesome nights. I got sick of it in 2001. Nights like Quality and Good Greef have taken over and its about time that they did as they offer the punter something different. Funkissential was also a great night and i'm sure it will do the biz under its new name simply because of the quality of the DJs involved in it.
