    Maxine Carr

Maxine Carr has wept in the witness box at the Soham trial, saying her ex-boyfriend Ian Huntley made her lie.

"I'm not going to be blamed for what that thing in the box [Mr Huntley] has done to me and those children," she told the Old Bailey.

Do you feel pity for her?

I don't, I hope she goes down as well. The fact is she would not have came forward to the police if they hadn't been charged and she obviously helped clean the house and get rid of all DNA and evidence. She spoke about the children candidly in a tv interview in the past tense on three occasions whilst hiding the truth. She may not be the cold blooded killer but she has blood on her hands.

If anyone still needs convincing of how the media uses choice language and content to influence a reader (without telling lies) Then spend a day reading the whole transcript from the soham trial and then buy that days paper.

I wouldn't like to be up in that jury because I really wouldnt know what to do with her.

fucking hell, if I ever accidentally end up in court on a murder charge I hope I don't get some of the people off this board on the jury......I'd be guilty for blinking in a strange accent

She might be able to play the poor, obsessive, anorexic lovestruck card but at the end of the day, she lied to the police.
If anybody does anything unlawful then says "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it", doesn't mean they don't have to pay the penalty.
Admittedly it'll certainly help her when it comes to sentencing but she is GUILTY m'lord.

The whole media frenzy over this is sickening - People are being made to think she was as bad as Huntley when all she did was provide a false Alibi.

YES she lied to protect her (allegedly) murderer boyfriend - thats not the same as murder, not by a long shot. If she is found to be guilty, alongside huntley i do think she should go down for a sizeable amount of time - but she isnt a murderer.

I'd imagine alot of boyfriends and girlfriends would lie or cover up for their boyfriends if they got into trouble - yes murder is as worse as it gets, but people can and DO still cover up for their loved ones if they get into trouble with the law or whatever, its human nature to do that kind of thing, no matter how wrong it actually is...

I think she needs to get some sort of punishment if Huntley is found guilty of the murders but I don't think she should suffer a long custodial sentence, maybe a year tops (I wonder how long has she been banged up for already).

I suspect she's prolly suffered a great deal so far and she will have to leave the UK when she gets out (to be safe from Sun readers). I hope we (the country) pay for her to go somewhere safe so she can start a new life and put this behind her.

I don't think her crime is anywhere approaching as bad as what he has "allegedly" done but she if she is found guilty of perverting the course of justice then she should be liable to the relevant punishment.

Yup, I reckon her life is over in this country.
Not a bad thing really. Get herself away to sunnier climes.

Did she give him a false alibi for not paying the TV licence? NO, IT WAS FOR MURDER OF 2 CHILDREN!

The way some of you lot talk if any members of your families got murdered, you would invite the killer around for tea & biscuits.

    Spot on Spence.

Rob > that's ridiculous, we will pay for her whilst she's in jail, I think paying for a new life is her job, not ours.

Question > would she have came forward to the Police and grassed "THAT THING" up if not arrested?
