*joins in the geek pissing contest* scruf too my knowledge that is wrong the internet was pioneered and developed by all sorts in its early days, some corporations were trying to create a network that would survive a nuclear attack where as the military were improving their communication systems... no 1 person can be given credit and contrary to public belief the US military played little part in its development. although you are right the inventor of the ip was british Jambon in its early days the internet could of been classed as an intranet - but that aint the point *zips up fly*
probably was a mix of stuff, i always heard it was created from 'arpnet', which the military used for comunications or something like that
