I go there all the time, or at least I used to. There is no official statement from the club, although the rumours were already there when it shut down for the summer that it wouldn't re open. There is talk of moving it to another club which might not be a bad thing as the ssytem is shit and it shuts at 2, even tho the club is rather unique. Can't see it reopening any time soon, hope it does though as it is easily the best techno night in the north. Need more techno in these parts.

went to the orbit for the first time in jan and only missed about 3 or 4 til it shut down for the summer I was so impressed! Technasia playing a live set, and Adam Beyer were 2 of my fav nights there, absolutely amazing:D
There's a massive demand for it reopening, so don't know why the owners haven't...reckon they may well move to another venue.

I was speaking to Orbit boys last week.

It has NOT closed. It normally reopens after the break in Sept but they are moving to a NEW VENUE asap so are working towards that.

Ill let you know soon as location is confirmed.

"Please remember that this is a residential area, try not to make too much noise and your way out...and please don't slam your car doors."

Haha things will never be the same...but I reckon that moving to a venue will be a good thing. Morley is such a random place, with so many randon peeps. Had so many good nights there, but can't wait til it reopens in a new venue. With a better sound sytem!

The location was one of my favourite things about it. Basically meaning it never attracted randoms. Only people who knew what the Orbit was about made the effort to go there, if it shifts to Leeds, the crowd will be diluted which is an essential part of it's unique atmos IMO. Really hope it survives, after Tresor in Germany, one of the best Techno clubs in the world.
