I suppose the same reasons people think drinking/drugs are great. Namely, i enjoy it, i like the tatse (esp with a cuppa), it's social (although admittedly it's equally antisocial!), i find it relaxing, good way to unwind etc.

I can't really justify it obviously, i know the damage it does. All i'm saying is i'm happy with it, and i don't plan to quit until i'm starting a family.

thats what i said. now i smoke at the bottom of the garden (IF i feel the need for a tab when i'm at home) and i always wash my hands after wards... there's like hundreds of chemicals in smoke.

Yes mate....

Yourself is ihe best person to see about packing in as all it takes is willpower.

I packed in for 3 months all down to will power and some help from patches, but give yourself a date to stop dont just say thats it!! give yourself a date so you prepare for that date !!

ive been of em a week now and when people were smoking next to me at work i was telling them to shift away because its a horrible smell,
i used to smoke 20 a day in the house must have been horrible for my mam who dont smoke , and the fact of wot i must have smelt like to birds who didnt smoke

aye, my dad works at freeman hospital, there is a smoking hut outside and he says some morning he sees more heads than legs in there. its well horrible, he gave up coz he once walked through the amputees bit of the hospital and talkin to the people they all said it was through smoking. minging.

The best bit about chucking it was how quickly you feel the difference in your lungs. Also after a night out not waking up with that horrible taste in your mouth, the feeling in your throat and blocked synisis. It's some difference.

Not forgetting the smell.

One of those guys on those anti smoking adverts has died, you know the ones, "just a routine chest x-ray"...chap died eleven weeks after shooting the advert

Don't know owt about the mental health side of it, but i've got a mate who used to be scared of heights. She went for hypnotherapy to get it sorted out cos she was really embarassed by it, and it seems to have worked a treat.

With smoking though, i always thought it's a physical addiction, so how could tampering with ya heed help~?

that's it I'm packing in.... fact I had a tab 1st thing this morning, last in the packet, got a patch on now and feeling ok.... ish.

got a cold at the minute so me chest feels like shit anyway, skint as fook cos I spend bout £150 a month on tabs, If I cant pack in I need a good slapping

the actual physical nicoteen addiction apparently wears off after 3-5 days for a normal-to-light smoker. from then, it's all in the heed.

I packed in smoking and i'm only a social smoker but would like to pack it in completely!

I did a hypnotherepy book & CD off amazon on the 19th of mayand haven't touched a single fag since.

Didn't even crave, it was only £7 for the book a bargain.


You really have to want to quit though or it wont work.

Try smelling yourself and the people arounf after you've had one that should be enought for you to pack it in
