It can get well expensve. Some people on here must have spent over 2 grand on their setup. Some people have better setups than some clubs!

I have 2 Ion belt drive dexs and a ion mixer, bought as a plug & play kit from HMV (haha!) a 13 year old amp and speakers. And to top it off both dex have had a speaker dropped on them from an above shelf. The dex hav major damage but I work around it. Cant wait to see wat I pull off with my new setup! I did not no whether I wud take it up so seriously. What does it mean if the dex are unearthed like?

That's exactly what many of the original house dj's (frankie knuckles,steve 'silk' hurley,larry levan etc) used to do @ the chicago warehouse & paradise garage N.Y back in the day (mid to late 80's).
Nice 1 Tomas. if that's how u started then you are the only person i've ever met (besides myself) who started that way. 1985/86 was when i started dj'ing for the breakdance crews on the street. a ghetto blaster and a battery powered 7" recordplayer. making dodgy remixes by rerecording small samples of a tune over and over so it sounded like cutting and then using the turntable to drop beats & scratches etc. Makes me feel like an old man now when i think about it. GOOD TIMES
