    Oh really...

And why is that then? Why would Rich not be 'too far behind' if he played prog, in your obviously very knowledgeable opinion?

    I'm all ears...

anyone with half a brain knows this. that shawn guy obviously has no idea what makes a good dj.

and mark i noticed last time at smile when it was the friday one that your mixing has come on in leaps and bounds from when you first started playin upstairs.

and i think that rich and scott are similar sort of dj's. both when playin warm ups get the crowd right up for it and also when playin later sets can still rock the place as good as any in their genre. a sign of a quality dj.

we are very lucky to have em all on our doorstep really :D

ha ha, my mixing's shit, wish it would improve weekly!!

is smile seriously the club's busiest night? that's pretty surprising.

How is this shindig/promise/smile/stone-love fight gonna work? what's the crack, what night is it on? how much will it cost?

Went to smile for the first time on monday..... had a right laugh jumping about and dancing to some pretty good funky house music, the fact that its only a quid in and all the drinks are only a quid makes it even more fun. Great value for money.

Would of liked to have heard Joe Smooth - Promised land at some point probably would of made my night i reckon.

Free Battle of the Nights CD

BATTLE OF THE NIGHTS, FOUNDATION WEDNESDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER

The purpose of the night is to try and let everyone sample a little bit of each night, too many people have misconceptions of the club, too many call it 'Shindig', and think Foundation only caters for specific niche.
But show me anywhere in the country that has US Deep House, Funky/Soulful House, Trance/Prog/Hard House, R'n'B & Hip Hop, Indie, Dirtbox, ALL IN ONE WEEK
So what If you don't like evrything, There's got to be something in that list that you like. If not then off to Bambu & Baja with them, For the Cheeky Girls & westlife.
Foundation is proud of the fact that we aren't a manufactured mainstream cheesy club. Eacn night is different, every week guest dj's give the crowd something different.

    GETTING OFF SOAPBOX NOW!!

    bACK TO THE NIGHT

On top of every Night spinning a sample of their tunes (in both rooms), there's a specially mixed free CD (1000 only) to give away on the night (Wednesday 24th) with 20 minute mixes from each DJ.

This is a one-off night, never done before & all the dj's, staff & promoters can't wait.

Free tickets were handed out in all the Freshers packs 5,000, so There'll be a lot of fresh ....... (let's call it 'talent' for P.C. purposes)

And on top of everything all drinks £1 all night!!!

The feedback already is incredible, and the flyers only went out today!

I'LL BE THERE, JUST TO SEE HOW IT'S ALL GONNA HAPPEN.

So is it only freshers that get tickets? how do us jaded old folk get our hands on them? (the tickets that is, not the freshers, although...;) )

Pay on the Door, only £1.
    Gonna be busy...
Doors open @ 9, think Smile with Luke Nixon & Mark Deaks are kicking it off.
Timetable not set in Stone so any suggestions welcome.

As for getting hands on Freshers, get them while they're hot. They'll soon learn to avoid us 'jaded old folk'.

On that note, fecking hell they're looking great this year. Even all the second year students I saw in Jesmond last night (moving into the lovely house that daddy just bought for them) looked fit as.

    Re: Oh really...

In my opinion, which isnt very knowledgebale, i really like Richard's prog sets more than his hard trance sets, this is mostly due to the fact that i much prefer prog - not because he isnt a good hard trance dj (he is), but obviously i am going to enjoy a set more if it is a type of music i love rather than i type of music i find fairly enjoyable.

Scott Bradford is a dj a really enjoy, i've never heard him play a set i dont like. Again this is perhaps because i enjoy listening to that sort of music. What type of music is being played is clealy an influencing factor in deciding who peroples favourite dj's are (perhaps it shouldnt be?), for instance my favourite types os music are techno, prog, deep house, and breaks hence if i was asked who my favourite djs then a signifiacnt number would be from these categories.

I enjoy all the residents at promise and shindig. I wasnt saying any of you were rubbish, in fact ive stated before that i have been looking forward to you and Richard on certain nights. However if i had to choose a favourite it would be Scott as, if anything i have enjoyed his sets most, altho i have enjoyed most of everyones. Again perhaps this is due to the fact that i enjoy the type of music he plays. Not only do i enjoy his music but i dont think ive seen him mess up which would suggest to me he is talented as well, but seeing as i cant dj well at all (which is a shame) my opinions may not be correct but i was just sayin that i have enjoyed his sets most. I think you are all good but my personal preference would be that Scott is the best, but i mayt be wrong...

    Is that a satisfactory explanation???:D
