Nasty. We had just gone outside at the time, then it kicked off.

About a decade ago one did frequent such other "golden oldies" as:

    The Tunnel - Southsheilds
Images - Southsheilds (got taxed in here once
    Rockshots :D
Afterdark (don't have fond memories of this place :spangled: )

Also, what was the the club called before it was renamed to Planet Earth...was it Walkers...thinks so...that was rockin :D

    The Spence to tell all...

Think I heard that many variations of what happened, don't know what's truth and what's not...

    Ahh, good old Walkers !

That placed had a healthy aromour of Vicks as soon as yuo opened the door.

1990 - Butterloggie wharehouse party's in Middlesbrough, Walkers in Newcastle

1991 - Rez & Mayfair, Solenoid @ Mayfair, Madisons backroom on Fridays, Raindance in Peterborough

1992 + Rezerections & lots of big outdoor raves all over the place, Time, Vision, Earthquacker (just realised I spelt that wrong but its appropriate as Keith Harris & Orville done a PA), Brainstorm, Fubar in Stirling, Nosebleed in Rosyth, Judga etc..

Lots of forgotton memories and scatterd brains.

After OOR Paul injured himself by trying to maim Gary Charles on the eve of his big move to Lazio, as part of recuperation he used to go about toon on lash.
One night he was in Walkers with crutches and a bandaged up leg when an 'incident' happened, the outcome was Gazza rolling around the floor clutching has now double injured bad knee. Stories swooped Tyneside on who done it??? Viv was the most high profile name, nothing was proved & in a few of Vivs books he does deny the attack but then he denies a lot of things in his book????

the blue monkey is nearly a cinima complex now. the whole block is being built on.

can you remember inside the club the subs were about 4ft across and there were 2 stacked ontop of each other either side of the dance floor.

they were so powerfull no matter how packed it was no body would stand within a few feet of them as it actually hurt!!!

Anyone who remembers the monkey must remember the rezerections and fantasia??
First reserection had Njoi live and was at the studio in Ncastle

.....and what about good old wear fm rocking it every mon night with DJs howie and SLP and thurs nights with Hughie and the crime watch!! Even gay to gay on the wed nights was superb!

Of course I read all about this as Im only 16!! Honest!!!:p

Picture the scene...saturday night at probably one of the best clubs in the north at the time...the doors opened at 7 and people were queing from about 6 to get in (thats how popular this place was)...anyway i had some beat the que tickets so me and the lads were in by about 7.15....anyway we take up our usual spot on the balcony and took our "supplies";) ...anyway it gets to about 8 oclock i had one eye shut by this time, if ya know what i mean, so i have a wander on to the dancefloor which was still quiet, even though the club was about half full by this time....anyway im bouncing away on the dancefloor, when i thaught i saw a bizzy walk past me..i thought to myself "fuck me these are good"..but i wasnt tripping....next thing i know music stops, lights come on and some pig is in the DJ booth on the mike telling everybody to stand still with there hands on there heads...people were being searched on the spot, hand cuffed if they found anything..sniffer dogs all over the place...you get the picture.......anyway apparently 3 furtature removal vans pulled up outside full of police ....must have been about 300 coppers if not more......mad i tell ya one of my mates got lifted...luckily i didnt get searched on the way out......it was surreral mate...never experienced anything like it...and i hope i dont again......after the raid it was never quite the same...and the club was burned down in an arson attack about 6 months later!:(

Yeah I remember Smokey Joe...in fact I'm sure that he was on at the Nocturnal 2 (I think!) allnighter in Cramlington years back...SL2 were a live PA that night...Smokey was on last 5-6 in morning...it was light by then, the tent did not keep it dark enough...but Smokey came on and played a blinder! A few people thought his set was the best of the night.

Quality story mate. At least you had taken all your suppiles though, so 1, you didn't lose out on them and 2, you didn't get arrested:D.

I bet you that you were totally paranoid though, thinking that the dogs were going to smell it on you or something

Anyone remeber the documentary the BBC done on the 2nd Nocturnal in 1992?

It was on TV a few times. Interviews with Smokey Joe & B-Jam. Loads of random people talking bollox to the camera.

One lad saying he would dance anywhere, even in a tent at the top of Windermere.

Im sure Ive got the video lying around somwewhere. Im in the background a few times with a 'Vicks ravour rub' T-shirt and a yellow beanie hat.

Music is class on it, also has those mad promobots on.

    Amazing
