    Is there any truth in that the Bar Apartment doesn’t let ugly people in???


    Some promoter in town asked if I wanted to be a member so I guess I’m one of the beautiful people lol!!!:p

    Whats this bar? Where is it?

    Im down in the south unfortunately so i cant come and have a look over...

    From the sounds of it though - It seems that the bar scene in newcastle is dropping to unchartered lows, since they have exhausted almost every "concept" known to man..

    I would have said that the likes of the Gate and Tiger Tiger would have been the breaking point, but it seems theres still cash to be milked before the big recession hits...

    Is it a members bar or something?

    Maccum - inhabitant of Sunderland, England.

    There appear to be several variations of spelling for this name e.g. Mackem, Maccem, Makkem, Makem.

    The name is said to derive from the time when shipbuilding was the main industry in the area. Sunderland was where they 'Make Them', or Maccum.

    Yup, I think it was added in the last edition or will be in the next one!

    Where is Apartment? I know it is only for cool people so I won't get in but I wouldn't mind going and standing outside for a few hours and look at all the trendy people!
