    Death of Trance?

I need help, ive lost my love of trance.

Ever since say 96' ive loved all uplifting trance, balearic trance and so on, but nowadays I go out to buy an album or download an mp3 and its either.

Cheesey crap put together by the likes of galaxy, whatever

    or

Over Non-Commercial stuff which just sounds like a bunch of pots and pans.

Am I just getting old or is uplifting trance a dead genre?

The last tune to give me a good vibe was Yoji's Theme from Banginglobe and that was over a year ago!

i felt the same for a while but trance is no way on the way out, prog is becoming more and more popular but i luv my prog also.

if u want fresh uplifting sounds u should listen to some of jon o birs sets, great stuff. it always happens where theres a lack of tunes coming out, and soon as u no it in a few weeks there`ll be like 20 new amazing releases come out and everyone will luv trance again.

theres a lot of great fresh producers out there delivvering the goods, like gareth emery for one.

what about tunes like plastic boy - live another life, pvd - nothing but you, there are also loads of new releases.

i dont get the same feeling as i used to from uplifting that y i tendd to spin more proggy melodic sounds now, but im all for great uplifting trance,

the thing that makes people think trance is a commercial genre is the fact that thats all they hear, and wen i tell people i listen to trance , they immediately presume i listen to the likes of talentles wankers such as the people behind ian van dahl, lasgo etc. these tunes r rapidly dying, as there all exactly the same ssound, andd proberbly done in the same production camp with the same shit vocalist on every tune.

im sure your luv for trance will soon be back.

trance will never die, just my 2, :)
    trance will never die.

You should listen to John 00 Fleming stuff. He's found a nice niche between proggy sounds but still trancy. Has the breakdowns but totally cheese free

    this man knows the score!!

this is the trance i love, along with hardwick, john 00 is one of the most underrated DJ's around. When he played promise last time the place was empty, but he still played one of the best sets ive heard in Promise.

Yeah that was disappointing since the first time he played it was rammed. He's almost too good for most people cos the stuff he plays isn't obvious - you have to be really into your trance to get into it. Drops in psychedelic stuff as well - not many famous DJs do that. I'd say he is without doubt the best pure trance DJ out there - shame that we'll probably never see him play Promise again

    JOOF :king:

Im also finding that Im starting to get into other types of music, used to be pretty much trance and nothing else. Dont know whether this is down to the 'demise' of trance or just my tastes changing, probably a bit of both.

However theres still no better music for making the hairs on the back of your neck stand up

same ere bosh, the only records i used to collect andd the only music i would play about a year ago was uplifting trance, now i collect andd listen to loadsa genres inccluding, progressive, breaks, tek-trance, techno, ambient, its all good. i luv all fo these genres but i think my favorite had to be melodic progressive as of the minute.
