I can't believe that this is happening. Although it will be a good thing in the long-term, where am I going to spend the other two Fridays per month???
Oh well, good luck with all of this Mark.
Can we have dj The Crow and Kai Tracid for quality and hopefully Oakie and Goldenscan for Promise????:)

    Sad news.......

Sad news....... lets just hope this is just a tightening of the belt loops and that Promise over come this testing period and return as a weekly night when things sort themselves out.

This is very sad news imo.

To not have a weekly trance night in somewhere the size of newcastle is unbelievable. But if the figures dont stack up the figures dont stack up.

I just cant believe we can get djs of the quality of John 00 Fleming and only 400 or so turn up. This time last year Promise was doing very well and Sugarshack was struggling. Now it seems to have turned a full circle.

I dont go to every single Promise but i reckon i usually averaged 3 a month. Just missed the odd one where i really didnt like the djs. Gonna be a big hole.

    yup :(

it was gonna happen tho mate as people were'nt showing up each week. fair enough, some had legit reasons, they cudnt afford it, had other plans, etc....but there were ppl just staying away for no valid reason at all. taking what they have for granted, not appreciating it.

promise, for me, was the only good place to go on a friday, this was the same for a lot of others. there are 'alternatives' but nowhere as good. people will realise this in time.

very, very sad. could quite easily have been avoided.........

It had nothing to do with half a dozen ppl from the board not showing up.

If everyone from the board turned up every week it would still have flopped.

    The numbers...

The current membership to The Promise Message Board is 1,126; I think if these people had turned up each week, things would be very different. Why register and join an online community if you choose to be an armchair clubbing critic?

Where do the people come from who go to the Telewest events; do they just appear from thin air; do they not realise Promise exists? The TW arena holds over 12,000, if just a random 12th of that number came each week, things might have played out differently.

Do you know how many people from Shields think the Foundation is just Shindig?

People seldom appreciate a thing until it is gone. Now those who felt as if they were perhaps too cool for Promise can reflect this on the 2 Fridays they are in Blue Bamboo, rocking it to Britney Spears and Girls Aloud.

On reflection, considering my previous DJ travels around the country, I can honestly say that Promise has one of the best crowds in the country.

    Where did they go?

    didnt mean it like that...

u shudnt have to have a valid reason not to go, maybe i came across wrong there...

all i meant is ppl didnt appreciate what they had and shud have made an effort to support it...

Pike > a didnt mean just board ppl mate - ur rite - half a dozen ppl off the board wouldnt make that much of a difference, there were so many more tho who used to go (who werent on the board) and then stopped...

it aint all about the msg board afterall..

    Re: Re: The numbers...

So if they can make the effort for big events, paying through the nose, why dont they see the advantages of a smaller weekly club?

It just seems as if they live with their faces to the ground.
