yeah, the tong/morillo night was one of the greatest ive ever been to, everyting about the night was amazing, i got goosebumps everytime tong got on the mic, with it being on radio 1.
what a night that was eh?

the club was at capacity by something like 10pm that radio1 night wasnt it, i heard stories of people queueing for over two hours to get in.

Indeed I remember Carl Cox as well, I had just got back up to uni that day after easter and most of my mates that were into that sort of music hadn't got back so I was persuading my other friends to come which at first thay didn't want them to and i didn't want 2go on my own, so I suggested gettin pissed in halls instead which they agreed to. as they got more& more drunk I kept trying to persuade them to come until at half twelve one of them eventually agreed so i quickly ordered a taxi, and got there at about one!and then he didn't have any money so I had2 pay 4him (oh well was still worth it). Cox was on 12-4 if I remember rightly so I had missed the first hour of his set but the rest of it was amazing, espec when he played Green Velvet -La la Land (the only song I can still remember)!! Quality.

soz if my little story went on a bit but throughout the first year I made it my mission to make all my main group of 9/10 'baja type ''people'' ' to come to Promise or Shindig at least once in the year, which I successfully acheived with this last person, so was quite proud!!!!

yeah, cox did play 12-4, i remember la la land as well, and the only other track i remember was lazy, right near the end.
i liked his set, but carl cox aint really one of my favourites, though im glad i can say ive seen him if nothing else!

that couple of months i went out so much, darren emerson at shindig, guy ornadel at promise, then cox, then promise bd, then shindig bd, both sat and sun night, then dave seaman and yves druyter, then john kelly, jesus that was a great time!

This year I'm living with 5 different people, after gettin 3 out of the 9 from last year to admit that promise/ shindig is better than, Badgers and the latest 'craze' blu bamboo (which is exactly the feckin same as Bajas - not that i go often ).
one of them never goes out anywhere so thats proven difficult, i took one of them to a couple of promises last year (picotto, john kelly&hardwick, i think cant remember) and hipp-e &halo@shindig, and this year picotto again, X-press2 and sandy riveira. she like it. out of the others one of them came to danny rampling in nov and 4rt it was ok. The other two r so narrow minded sometimes but came to arcane in december (wasn't that hardcore of them going to a dance event at the student union!!!) but didn't really like it but they were sober because one of them had2go2hospital just b4 so couldn't drink!! so still work 2b done i think!!! i keep having pill-related arguments with them and they just talk shit and belive every stupid little thing every stupid little tabloid says and it really winds me up as u can tell !!sorry


like they don't understand the concept of talking to strangers (which is one of the best bits IMO) etc. i do this even when i'm sober and they just say i'm weird, but i'd do this at their dumb clubs as well if there was actually friendly people there!!!

at least youre making some progress mate, better than nothing. and yeah, i had people in my halls in my first year giving me lectures about the dangers to my body etc. they also were the boat and bajas brigade, who believe that even looking at a pill will kill you, i know exactly what you mean mate!
i couldnt tell you the last time i set foot in a cheesy club, whenever i used to go them i was always thinking what else i couldve been spending the same amount of £ on!

i was at halo and hipp-e as well, i really liked them, ashley beedle was in the bar if my memory serves me correct! i went to rampling in nov as well, and i saw him a few weeks ago as well, i really liked his sets

sounds like youve still got a bit of work on your hands converting everyone, it might be hard work but it will be worth it! and no need to apologise about your rant either mate, stuff like that pisses me off as well, thats why i only go to shindig/promise/arcane etc with like minded people!
