Sany Rivera was ok. Nowt special.

Thought he was good early on, suprisingly tribal. :)

But then he went way too funky. It was just all saxaphones and no rythyms. Would have sounded great in Stereo at 10pm, but it lost me a little bit in Shindig at 2am. :(

    However, when he dropped "finally". :D :D :D :D :D

Kleinenberg was booked once for Promise. But he turned up minus his record box.

But the music policy has changed so they wouldnt book him now. Shindig seem to be booking a few more proggy djs these days rather than just sticking with the pure house.

i enjoyed sandy but it seemed like he did'nt know what style he wanted to play. he kept on going funky then tribal.

i went to sandy, and thought he was really good, a nice mix of funky and tribal.
the atmosphere was pretty good as well, i like it when its really busy!
when he dropped backfired by masters at work it sounded class, and i didnt expect him to drop finally for some reason.
i stayed behind again afterwards to meet him, he seemed friendly if a little reserved.
got 2 of my records signed by him, the original finally on distance records, and the tenaglia mixes on defected.
he didnt stick around for long afterwards, though i did get to meet his girlfriend who is called peppermint
spoke to scott bradford for a bit as well

and yeah, shindig are booking a few more proggier djs, now promise have stopped.
seb and sander in the same month, me thinks sander will be getting a visit
shindig have always had a few prog djs, howells, deep dish, futureshock, cattaneo, and other ex-promise dj would go down well at the dig as well, such as nick warren, dave seaman and sasha.
if digweed can play shindig, so can sasha

Definiatly, the more the merrier I say!! I went had a wicked night, wasn't quite as good as X-Press 2 though still really good!!

About Sasha, I for sure hope either Promise or Shindig book him (preferably both!) I've still never seen him. I think he would play quite a few breaks tunes with the prog tho. How about someone booking him back to back with Digweed?! :)

you cant beat the atmos when the clubs rammed can you?
as for sasha, the best hope these days is for shindig to book him, cos i cant see him ever playing promise again.
the club was heaving when he played, and i thought he was class, but he doesnt really fit in with lab 4 and anne savage does he?

as for him and digweed, i wish, though those 2 playing together these days in this country is a very rare thing indeed.
digweeds back at shindig though i think, june 14th

Aye, I love it when you can hardly move!! even if you get loadsa sweat dropping from you off the ceiling it's still just the best!!

By the way does anybody know if it's true that Promise or Shindig have a poilicy that they can't book a DJ that's been at the other one in the past 18 months cos that's what I heard, this could explain why S.K. is only just being booked at Shindig????

no idea mate, though it could be.
the only dj who has played both in the past is tall paul, but he last played shindig years ago, and he played promise last july.

i love the sweat dripping off the ceiling as well mate, you can beat a hot sweaty club.
the sweatiest i remember it was either the essential mix tour night last sept, or carl cox in april 2002, the sweat was pouring off the roof.
though picotto at the bd last year was like a sauna as well

Damn right m8, I was at both those Shindigs and at Picotto each time. I would say Morillo/ Tong was the busiest it took like ten minutes to get from one side ot the dancefloor to the toilets!! Apparently they overflowed the club by 500 more than capacity that night!! Ah oh wud have thought a conversation about sweat would have brought back such good memories!!!:D
