    The Back Room

I went in on Friday and im gathering from where Matty H's wife was sat this is where all the dj's others halfs go when they're playing a set? Yes?

Anyways...I thought that room was horrid. It was dull and manky as fcuk.

If i was a DJ or the other half i wouldnt have sat in there all night - it doesnt give a good impression of the club what so ever!

Is there not any chance you could decorate it for the clubs sake and not mine? Instead of it looking like a skag house?

    Just a thought...*awaits a ban!*

I thought the same too. I expected it to be a bit more fancy than that. I shouldn't matter what the 'back rooms' like though, more about the music and club itself.

    Re: The Back Room

Theres usually a cyberesk lamp shade which makes the room look much better honest

2 be fair though the room is like the ritz compared to a lot of clubs... those couches are real leather :p

The backroom in my eyes is very much like the club - not at all pretentious.

Its not for the clubbers or the punters... it somewhere the dj's/guests can sit comfortabley away from all the comotion (gimps ;) ). Why waste money on golden chandeliers when its more than adequite?

Are we talking about the artist room here behind the main room DJ box??

If we are can I ask what the fuk you lot care for? Unless you actually work at the club or the DJs playing you shouldn't even be there, why dont you stop worrying about stuff that doesnt really have anything to do with you......

And just for the record, its the nicest artist area Ive came across in a club yet.

This week it was looking a little grubby and the lampshade (which makes the room) was missing... But even in this condition it was much nicer than a load of backrooms... I agree there isn't a problem.

Not aimed at anyone but it was all the people in there that was making it so horrible.

I think that they are gonna put a doorman on the backstage door soon because there was a right load of fuckwits in there.

(no, I'm not on a comedown).

    :)

The room is meant to be restricted...

At times though it is impossible to know who is a friend of the dj and who isn't.... If the wrong people are thrown out it makes a far worse problem than a shabby room (and this 1 aint shabby  ). The room in my eyes is always to busy, but if theres talks of a doorman then this could solve all :D

I kept on opening the door to let some air in, it got well on top.

I ended up going and sitting upstairs in the office a luxury that some people (Tina for one) didn't have as an option.

    Think on people.

I fail to see why your even in there.. The club is good enough to let you use its VIP facilities and you come on and publicly critisise it.. Why not have a word with the venue manager while your there..

And just for the record, im hired on occasion to drive a certain DJ to promise among many other clubs, thats why I know what the rooms like. Maybe one day I will DJ at promise but your point about me DJing there is totally irrelivent...

Personally if i was in charge no one would get in unless directly emplyed by the club or artist(or if there on the artists request). I dont know why folks go to a club to sit in these areas for anyway, what a waste of a night..

I was just thinking "who's this joe person" :D .

It doesn't really need to be a doorman, could be just a staff member who checks for passes.
