Didn't go meself, but general feedback seems to be he wasn't as good as he was at Gatecrasher London on Friday...

He was sposed to be doing three hours at Passion, but only ended up doing an hour and a half as he had to catch a flight?

mark west, paul van dyk and jfk @PASSION review
after the horrendous journey down, about 3hrs or so, we got there just in time for the club to open at 9pm.

Passion has more layers than an antartic explorer, with many little rooms and places to chill out.And podiums for lots of girating, this helped to give the club a very intimate feeling, the venue helped the nite be such a success!!!

mark west was the first on from 9pm till 12.30am, and his set was banging from the beginning, from there we knew it was gonna be a good nite, and he played tomcrafts lonlyness( TUNE) so he had me from there.

then on stepped pvd at 12.30am till 3.30am, his set was good but i think i had expected more, his tunage was superb and mixing excellent, but i just thought it lacked something for a man of his reputation.

then finnaly JFK from 3.30am till 6.30am, he played the crowd excellently and the mix of floaty trance interdipersed between hard trance was a great warm down for the what now had become sunday morning .

it wasn't so much a nite out as a marathon,9am till 6.30am, and we only sat down 3 times,by the end the place was so hot and sweety the condensation was dripping from the ceiling (sign of a good nite), and my legs were killing me, but i was determined to make it till the end.

the car journey wasn't that bad (i was asleep most of it,gurn baby gurn!!), and i hope it isn't cow season yet!!

So i got in to find jame's sister in my bed, and my hamster had made such a mess in my room too.Good thing i was too fookin wrecked to care, i just climbed into bed and fell asleep.( after kicking james's sister out first tho )

all in all probably one of the best nites out i have had

hi to clarki who i met there, sorry about the wobbly i took while speakin to ya, i wasn't really that fucked

    :D

    i went.
    got very pissed.
    pvd was class. :)
then i went back to the travellodge at half 4 as was too tired and pissed.

however there were understocked bars, running out of vodka its not the same knocking back shots of jack daniels :(
and also shit cloakroom staff, and one fat annoying bouncer.

Right lets get a few things straight....

PVD was due toplay 3hrs but for some reason JFK told us that there had been a mix up with his agency therefore he did 2hrs which was 1:30am - 3:30am and what a fucking fine 2hrs it was !

From start to finish his mixing was unreal, the bloke never stopped loving it and even when he got there he was dancing round   not so boring now is he :p !! Tunes wise i dont think i need to explain what he played as as per it was the finest trance ive ever heard and a typical PVD set :D :D

    For An Angel
    For An Angel Rmx
    Revolution 9 - The Weapon
PVD - :spangled: (Hemmstock & Jennings Vocals)
Dark Monks - Insane (PVD Rmx)
    Umek - Gatex (PVD Rmx)
    Solid Sleep - Club Attack
    Second Sun - Empire
    + Loads i didnt know.....

To me it was the best Trance set ive heard in a long long time - the club itself Passion is well good, the sound system is spot on (maybe not Promises lodness like) and altho the bar shuts @ 2am which is a let down i had a totally class time and would recommend it to anyone with the clubbers there as friendly as ya will find about !

JFK after PVD wasnt really my cuppa tea but all the same the main room was rocking :p - i thought Mark West played a storming warm up then after JFK had done his stint West then was on before "The Lord Of Trance"

If West could be booked for Promise i think people need to try and make it happen (people off here that have seen him) his tune selection, mixing, attitude was spot on and i think he'd go down a storm here - he even said he'd play too ;) ;)

All in all a top night for me - still cant get over how good PVD was tho :D :D - wanna say thanks to Karl52 and his two mates for such a good laugh there n back even tho it seemed to take forever hello to CLARKi and Q Toy who i remem talking to in there and Illuminous Alex was knocking bout too ;) ;)

    Chow for now :D

Straight from the gatecrasher notice board this is Passion's reason for PVD's short set.. not that i went myself.

This is the passion board moderators response to why pvd only played 2hrs:

The reason he didnt play the full 3 was because of a communication error between his UK management and passion. We had originally booked him for 3hrs. When JFK went to confirm set times this week we were informed that due to unfamiliar surroundings, PVD only wanted to play 2hrs.

The above was stated on the set times posted throughout the club. However, these did seem to go missing throughout the night by trophy hunters!

IMO, PaSSion was a decent venue. Layout was pretty good and sound/lighting not bad.

PvD's set was good, not the best I've ever heard but I think I was expecting so much more. Enjoyed JFK more to be honest!

    Apart from that...

    What a fcuking SH!T night!!!

The club was over sold by 500 (2500 instead of 2000), and as a result you couldn't get moved. The venue was lucky to get away with it. Good job there wasn't a serious accident, that's how packed it was!!! There was no room to dance and you kept getting pushed all over the place. Everyone was getting pished off as there was no where to go.

Was full of fcuking t0sser Crasher kids shouting "come on Crasher!" every 10 mins! W@nkers!!! There are a lot of sound crashers but these ones were total nobbers!

Cloak room queues were stupid! Took us over 30mins to hand coats in but got them back ok as we left by 5am.

We ended up sitting in the green room all night bar 30mins where we managed to find some space on the balcony overlooking the main room.

We arrived at about 9.45 and by 10.30 had debated jumping back in the car and going to Sundis instead!

Dunno if I'd bother going to PaSSion again to be honest. There are far better places to go in the midlands.

It's like us going there shouting "Let's 'ave it Promise!" but ppl probs wouldn't know where Promise was!!!

BTW, think I know who that I Like Lights g i m p from the crasher board is anyway from sat! If it wasn't him, it should've been with the cr@p that he was wearing! He could've jump-started a WW2 tank with the battery pack it must've taken to power his clothing that night! :dunce:
