This is true, it was excellent and not proggy which was nice! TBH I had almost made my mind up about Shindig being shite before I walked in (dunno why) but I sharp changed my mind. I agree with Joe that a lot (most actually) is boring but when it is done like it was on Saturday it is excellent!

16B mix is, but pretty much anything Omid touches turns to gold anyway.

One of the most underrated DJs in the world.

Right, read it, refreshed my memory.

Since then, I've dug out 16B - Escape from the depths of one of my boxes, and discovered a mix on the B which IMO is considerably better than the Francisco Farfa one on the flip.
    This mix, Omid's Dark Dub.

Why oh why don't Shindig book Omid?!

Most of the stuff that's been spoken about here is nowhere near prog mate, all dark & dirty house.

I generally find that trance heads like proper prog.

I would say that I'm really open minded when it comes to music but for a while Promise really got on my tits with the music to the point where even Matt Hardwick was playing repetitive prog. I hear what your saying tho cos Nick Warren played a blinding prog set a while back which i really enjoyed. Just saying as a general rule i don't like it.

I think that people that aren't generally into it confuse prog a lot with the darker side of house music.
Proper 'Progressive' would be played by DJs like Nick Warren as you said, and people like Sasha, Digweed, etc. Proper prog always has the trancey edge.
I think dark & dirty house music though (Deep Dish, Omid16B, Hernan Cattaneo) is an acquired taste though.
