I think its a good idea to close it for a while. It will hopefully get rid of most of the randomness and i especially hope all the thread hi-jacking stops.

Yeah, I understand. Just saying that it's a shame on a personal note. Hopefully, the decision will work out for you in the end tho.

most clubs tend to get quiet round xmas... so if the people were sending out a bad vibe about the the club on the main forum, pulling it makes sense.

    more power to ya.

lookin forward to fri sooo much... and my farewell b4 xmas. back to the old N.Ire for me.

Maybe instead of booking guest DJs you should have had a 'Trance Classics' night. Maybe the crowd would have been the same but your costs would have been less.

I think it is a great idea. Maybe it should be at the back end of the month when people are a bit skint.

If Passion & Golden are doing it, it has to be right as they are 2 of the most innovative clubs in the country.
Passion has everything a hard, a classics, back to back specials, residents nights & Passion versus nights.
As for Golden,Jon Hill is one of the best promoters going, Cream headhunted him & his joint venture with the Judge (Judgement Sunday)is a success story as well.
If you are getting your inspiration off these clubs then we the punter will have quite a few good nights a head.

i agree this time of year is quiet for clubs. but i think promise has being getting quieter for a while now. even when mauro picotto played they promise did not have a massive crowd. im not sure why this is but i hope promise does improve, u deserve it mark u put a lot of hard work into the club and it must be disappointing for u when they is a low turnout.

I think this week will b busier but next week for example guy ornadel is on. i think guy is a superb dj and alwys plays well in promise but io think the club will b quiet 4 it. hes played promise a lot this year and the past few times he's beinh have not being busy, in all honesty not as many peeps are going to come out just to c guy so close to xmas.

Can't say I'm bothered about the main forum going the journey, it saves me having to trawl through all the shite to get to the interesting bits....it had became little more than a chatroom.

I think the monthly trance classics night is a little regular, but would be made more interesting if there were also guest DJ's included. Just look at the success of the likes of Red and Black. I reckon the place would be rammed if Promise did it's own Red and Black tribute night with Matt and Scott....for instance.

I, personally, am usually tempted by some of the DJ's who I haven't heard play, the ones who maybe don't visit England on a regular basis. I'm also constantly tempted back by the DJ's who hardly ever fail to play a solid performance...the more consistent ones.

    Ask your mother!
Mark i know your a stubbin (spelling) git and what you say goes!!!

I just want to make a comment about the planned trance classics night, I aggree, its a great idea, but once a month is too much. You said yourself that Picotto's 4th time in Newcastle was not as special! I dont think there will be any difference with the classics night!!!

Think about the word 'classics', these are songs that everyone knows and loves, and more than likely owns a copy on a cd, vinyl or MP3! and it doesnt matter how much you love a tune once youve played it to death, its gone forever, and you will never feel the same way about it. We have all done it.

By all means do it once a month, its not going to stop me from coming, not by a long shot, im not sure all the 'punters' will feel the same.

Having said that if Passion & Golden can do it im fucking damn sure we can do it better!
