Was just thinking about this last week. The toon doesn't seem to have any decent bars that AREN'T absolutely chock block full of c*nts with spray tans and geordie shore extras, where you can go and have some pre clubbing drinks to get in the mood? You'd think the old Stereo / Coco-V formula of good cool electronic music in a bar setting (with no dancing necessarily) would still be popular? It seems not these days.
everything has a cycle . unfortunatly the 'clubing scence' hasnt up here..... id be out every weekend if there was
The smoking ban did most of the pre bars in. Most people realised they could sit in the comfort of their own home with a few mates, smoke, drink (more cheaply) and have decent music on.
I'm too old and can't be arsed with dressing up to go and hang around in bars week in, week out to pay for an expensive hangover - but when I do, it would be good to think there were places worth going. For all the fame that the toon has as a place to go out, the money and corporate ownership gives everywhere a similar feel - And as Conway rightly said, who the fuck wants to drop a load of coin before they go to a club with the state of drinks prices and smoking ban managing to ostracise and change the 'feel' of any pre-clubbing activity. This just ends up keeping the music fans at home, and the tossers with sparklers in their bottles of overpriced Moet (Tip : Good Prosecco is less than a tenner a bottle and tastes better), floating about bars thinking they are 'VIP'.
The forth doesn't have 'clubbing' DJ's in tho does it? Nothing that perked my ears up. Poppolo had a whiff of 'tup tup' about it .. Tokyo stank of 'tup tup' ... When it was Po Na Na it was brilliant tho.
Depends what you class as clubbing djs. They have djs playing non commercial dance music if that's what you mean.
