Stanley is worse. Looks like a slow news day at the ronny gill... they clearly haven't seen the pzazz sex tapes.
pretty standard fair. i'm sure the doormen will get a good bollocking for not even trying to interject. not even a bit. pretty harsh how the lad coming in at the end to help gets a pretty spot on connection to the face like
Everyday is a slow news day at the Chronicle........... The bouncers! Digital obviously not a place you want to get started on.
What a bunch of animals. No wonder Shindig upped sticks and left with that kind of clientele knocking about. Obviously Digital is running a numbers business but getting a reputation for bother being a real possibility is the quickest way to people going elsewhere. The clip of the people in there on Black Eye Friday was horrific.
I've found Digital varies depending on what night is on and at what time. Usually you don't get much bother at the specialist music nights, depending on who is on. The last two "nu-progressive house" style nights I went to in there were full of bellsacks, but I still didn't see any bother. Fightclub Friday seems to be horrific no matter where you go - That whole weekend is usually nowt but fighting and seasonal drinkers who go out twice a year when the factories break up. I remember Sasha being on the night after that Friday at digital a few years back and walking off because someone threw a water bottle at him. Still, if you think Digital is bad, you should see LQ/Liquid down the road. Cox has been telling me a few horror stories of taxi pickups from there recently...
It's a shame that violence like that has become an acceptable thing to some people. You get cocks wherever you go, but the problem is the British culture of getting in big groups, getting drunk, and it being perfectly reasonable to kick off with other people. Any big club is going to suffer it, and with the music comes a different class of people - The question is whether or not club owners are going to have a 'not my problem' attitude about it. Foundation had a reputation for door staff that had no issue turning large numbers of people away if the bouncers didn't like the look of them. Fair or not, it made it clear to people that they had to mind their P's and Q's and that getting in was not guaranteed. After a while, the trek up to clubs like that becomes off-putting if you think there is a chance you aren't getting in. Large clubs trying to pack 1500 odd people in, during an economic downturn, are fucked if they try and get picky. It's up to the individual whether or not they want to take that risk eh.
Looks like the door staff didn't give much of a fuck about it anyway, it wasn't happening inside the club so just waiting to get the police down to deal with it.
Probably because they tend to get sued to fuck nowadays for doing anything other than removing the offenders from the building. Interfering with those lot on the street could end up seeing them charged with assault, even if they were just trying to help. They're all licenced via the SIA, and if they end up with convictions they lose their badge. We've had a doorman up our way killed after he tried to intervene in a fight and both parties turned on him. Fucking scum.
Aye once the offenders the are out off the building/off the premises these days the door staff are now encouraged not to become involved for the above reasons and leave it to the police. They should bring back the days of the doormen giving these bell ends a good hiding out the back fire exits and they will think twice about doing it again, now they are just openly encouraged to push everyone to the lmimits and every week is an expedition to see what new things they can get away with. As phil says i've had my eyes opened even more since taking up taxi driving for a living and the people I often find myself picking up from LQ/Liquid/Ikon whichever you prefer all come with a horror story. They are either virgins to the event and are appalled by what they have seen or are bragging about how they started a mass brawl outside, bullied some lass into crying cause she didnt have the right shade of false tan on, threw drinks over people just for a laugh and so on. The place has been on it's arse for years so unfortunately without the numbers it would have been screwed but if as they claim it's the north easts busiest night they should surely be able to fill the place and still keep to one side these utter scrotums of society. Apparently not. The greed of the promoter is probably to blame. This seems to be on the rise across the city amongst the standard commercial orientated nights and venues partly due to the tourism and partyly due to the fact every single 16-21 year old thinks it's imperative that they've had 50 quids worth of the shittest possible quality columbian marching powder up their beaks before even leaving the house and all suddenly assuming that they're superman. Some fucker needs to get into these places and get some Vera's sold and calm these fuckers down before people start getting murdered on a weekly occurence as a result of these absolute bell pieces who can;t handle their treble paintstrippers and money bags of Daz whiter than brite! Thank god for Jaunt/Shindig/Motion/Ape-x etc for giving those more mature self respecting socialites a relatively safe atmosphere in which to let our hair down (those that have some anyway) away from these absolute arse candles. Rant over x
