No thread on this so thought I'd step in If you've not jailbroken your iPhone/device yet, watch the video bellow then follow the information I've provided, piss easy & LEGAL. (For iOS 5.1.1, Untethered) Didn't always have mine jailbroken & got sick to death of the same theme on my iPhone so decided Cydia was the way to go. I've found a link to Absinthe which I've posted below, very simple jailbreaking method for your iPhone 4, 4s etc, so simple your grannies could do it. First, click this link http://absinthejailbreak.com/absinthe-v2-0-4-support-ipad-24-on-ios-5-1-1-now-available & download for whatever you use, windows/mac/linux. It'll download Absinthe in a zip file, just extract to your desktop. Then simply follow the instructions in this guys very easy to follow video. I've done 3 iPhones tonight & all work brilliantly. I'm loving all the tweaks from Cydia (which Absinthe installs on your device). Don't forget to back up your device in iTunes before going ahead, just in case. Hope this was useful
I'm still in the dark about this whole jailbreaking carry on. Can I still sync as normal? Adding podcasts through itunes etc?
Glad it worked for you bud! @Jimmy Yeh mate @trance250 can still sync as normal & even buy stuff from iTunes as normal, tracks apps etc. Even if it goes tits up (which it shouldn't) or you feel like going back to non jailbroken iOS, just restore then backup, it won't back up the jailbreak back to your device. I only got it for the sake of some new themes lol, & was able to change my operator logo from 3 to a space invader icon! easily amused. Oh, also if you do jailbreak, when a new version of IOS comes out it will likely fuck your jailbreak, so best to hang fire with 5.1.1 if jailbroken, until they release a jailbreak for the latest iOS, whatever that will be, 6 I'm guessing. They usually have one out within days
Ah nice one. Never been fussed about paying for apps etc as the price of them is hardly going to break the bank. It's the cool little things that I like ( themes, spinning app icons and all that carry on)
Same here mate, always paid for tracks & apps, don't have many apps tbh just keep all my space for music lol. But yeh it's deffos worth getting for a change of look & all the cool geeky shit haha
