    after a rather heated arguement at work once about god, religon and all that guff, i proclaimed something along the lines of "it's all bollocks, the way i look at it, as a man of science..." needless to say, the room erupted into laughter with "you? a man of science?" Hence and then forth i was named The Man of Science.

    it just came out - much to my ridicule. and it stuck.

    i always thought school nick names consisted of "stick a 'Y' on the end" or sometimes "chop yer second name in half and stick a 'Y' on the end" - both combinations work.
