With a sound that encompasses everything tech-flavoured, from minimal to trance to schranz, Argy is pushing boundaries, challenging all that is generic and twisting it all up with a technical wizardry second to none. Fuelled by an obsession for tech soaked beats, Argy is an artist determined to be defined by concept rather than by genre, and represents a fresh sound for a new decade. Argy has been developing his sound solidly over the past five years. He has been playing within hard dance since being old enough to be allowed into venues, obtaining residencies for some of Wales’ biggest players, including Evolution, Urban Chaos and Trancefusion. Now poised above all that is average, Argy’s sound resonates from tech trance, to tech house to hard tech with a distinct identity for individuality. The Master of Mash-up, there is no such thing as a typical Argy set. With a technical wizardry integrating elements of minimal, tech-house, trance, schranz and funky techno across 3 decks, each set has its own individuality and is utterly unique. Argy’s use of tricks and EFX bind it all together, taking each set through a twisting turning aural journey rammed full of energy and surprise. A flair for production has earned Argy deserved attention from the likes of Judge Jules, Kutski and Alex Kidd with countless Radio One plays, reviews in M8 and Out of Hand magazine, inclusion in the infamous ‘Tried and Tested’ feature on Jules show as well as being no.1 on Jules’ monthly top 10. Support and plays from trance and hard dance maestros have proven the diversity of Argy’s appeal and include Alex Kidd, Kamui, Organ Donors, Jordan Suckley, Matt Darey to name but a few. Argy’s 2009 gig schedule has seen him feature in some of the UK’s biggest lineups, playing for the biggest brands. As a Kiddfectious All Star, he played at two of the four Kiddstock events alongside the very best within hard dance as well as some of the UK’s most cutting edge venues including Matter in London, Storm at the Emporium and the Warehouse Project in Manchester. Other massive dates have included Goodgreef, Isle Life, Bionic, Escape Gets Filthy and Slinky. His softer side meanwhile has seen him play alongside the likes of Eddie Halliwell, Sean Tyas and Giuseppe Ottaviani for superbrands Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Fire it Up, Escape and Goodgreef. With big things in the pipeline for Argy, 2010 is set to be one of an imminent takeover – a takeover of tech!
