    that looks fucking awful.

    I'm not the biggest fan of the "get carter" carpark (I hate it), but I'd rather have that left than the tesco eyesore thats going to replace it.

    If only it was the buildings that is Gateshead Town Centre's problem. It'll never change no matter how much you spend on it. Scum of the earth.

    I don't see the problem either.. am I missing something? I personally would hate it if everything was being rebuilt in stone.. I don't mind a bit of modernization.

    gateshead has managed to jump on every planning bandwagon for the past 50 years. Every scheme is too big too monolithic and lacking in any humanity. every time they fuck up they replace it with another huge lump of shite which will get torn down and replaced again. planners are shite and so is this scheme. dull dull dull

    everyone seems to be missing the fact that theres a horrible grey old building and a derlict car park on that site, only made famous by a film nearly 30 years ago. anything but has gotta be a bonus.

    Yeah I think it looks good.. people will piss and moan about old buildings/areas being shit and then when something new is going to replace them and offer something new and fresh, they piss and moan some more :lol:

    I wish they hadn't built the sage though, I'd have preferred a manky big car park with a river view and a penthouse level overlooking the keyside of newcastle.

    the Sage is a great piece of design but this new one is ill proportioned derivative faux-trendy dated cliched and cheap. And it's vast. treats people like ants.
