So what if he got nowhere near it? He'd just blocked the fist shot and showed his commitment in trying to block the next one. He had a fantastic game as well. One of his covering blocks in the first half when they got in behind Cole kept the game at 0-0. He led from the back last night and needed a good game after the time he's had since the last game.
I thought that apart from the first 10 minues, Glen Johnson had a cracking game as well, particularly defensively which is something we don't normally say.
Anything to add to your John Terry arselicking tonight Aaron? Useless fucker cost us 2 goals 100% his fault.
We were awful as a team. There was nothing arse licking about Terry after the Slovenia game, he was the best player on the park and deserved the compliments and plaudits he got. 10 players cost us tonight, we were woeful defensively as a team.
Bollox silly defensive errors cost us, with the germans speed and countering lethal. After we scored we bossed the game, there was only going to be one winner. Going in at half time at 2-2 would have devasted the germans and we would have crushed em the roll we where on. We even came out the second half and smashed it to em until the 60th min when Terry fucked up again and we got punished. We had most possession and most chances, iv no doubt in my mind if that goal had gone in we would have crusied. The germans where shell shocked. Terry wouldnt have been in the Forward postion and would have been covering back for Mullers goal. All this the germans where better team are bullshit. Watch a reply of the game
Just in defence? We had 2 strikers who failed to score... again. We had a midfield who were non existent apart from maybe Lampard’s chances & the odd decent ball in from Milner now & again. Cole came on & did add a little spark by which time I think we were 3-1 down? Upson (despite his goal) looked very amateur yesterday, constantly pulling Terry in due to the fact he was unable to handle Muller, which then left the defence wide open on every occasion, proving a mistake that would cost us embarrassingly. Defensively we were a mess yesterday. We were unlucky with Lapards goal which I personally think wouldn’t have changed a thing but each to their own. We have failed to win convincingly since the tournament begun so I couldn’t see an equaliser go our way make that much of a difference? Defoe also hit the bar, but other than that we didn’t really look like we were a great danger to the German defence. Germany on the other hand were lethal on the counter, the very simplest of training ground passes & movements proved too much for a squad of apparent ‘world beaters’. Christ knows what’s went on behind closed doors since the qualifiers…
Thats like saying "apart from those four mistakes we made where they scored, we were mint" The Germans were the better team because they put four in the back of our net and we didn't score more than them. They caught us napping at the back every time. The only thing they planned on doing was pulling Terry out of position and then punishing us for it. And it worked twice easily without any problems. Fair enough, we should have had two, it may have made it evens and a better contest in the 2nd half, but we were still outplayed by a team who knew exactly how to exploit our weaknesses. Nothing was changed at half-time to counter this and noone had any answers to it. The warning signs were there during the group stages - Germany looked their most dangerous on the counter-attack in every game. Our strategy going into this game had no answer to that, and they didn't find a way round it during the game either.
