    my first trip to Newcastle

    Hi all

I am coming up to Newcastle over the weekend 30th April - 2nd May and need somewhere to go out...

I go clubbing quite a lot in London, and like any combination of trance, techno, and the harder stuff as well (or a general combination of tech/trance/hard)

where is good to go that's not too cheesy and commercialised - if any of you have been out in London, think Brixton and Vauxhall and not Ministry and Pacha!

Thing is, it's actually my birthday that weekend and so many people have dropped out it is looking likely I will be up there on my own

but I have paid for a hotel and train tickets etc and I am not going to just waste that money!!

so any advice would be welcome; places to go for music, and places to eat... and if any of you people want to show me around on a night out let me know!!!

I am used to going to clubs on my own down here but it's my home town so I am used to it - new places are scary!!!

hope that is enough info... over to you!

Check the 'Going Out' section of the forums, I don't live in the NE anymore so I haven't a clue where is good these days :p

Although if you like indian food, check out the famous Rupali Indian Restaurant - http://www.curryhell.com/ Best indians I've been to in Newcastle, service was great, and you always have the cury hell challenge if you fancy something hotter than a vindaloo :D

tell me about it - was on there since 2003 but had to leave it all behind - every thread turned into an argument and it wasn't about clubbing anymore....

I never learnt anything about the NE though!!
