I'm looking forward to the visit of the CIA to the next Soznak practice so they can tell us what to play.

Writing in capitals doesnt make your point any more valid, it just makes you a crap internet equivalent of Ian Paisley.

A huge amount of government policies are dictated by large corporations needs or wants, media companies are owned by large corporations.

The press don't exactly hide these facts.

    I never mentioned lady Gaga.

And saying the herd regulating themselves is a statement of fact - so how is it being on a 'high horse' as you say. Are you trying to tell me you DONT think that people in large groups have a herd instinct, or try and keep each OTHER in check. Its basic human psychology.

THANKS for the pointers Si ;) I really WILL try harder next time.

I never said anything about the press hiding anything either. So presenting a counter argument against something i never actually said is the internet equivalent of a chimpanzee riding a tiny red bicycle, dressed in a gingham dress with plaited hair, with a sign saying "My name is Phil Mitchel and i like straw man argument techniques" scrawled in faeces on a sheet of white paper, and stapled to its back.

... if of course, you want to stick to internet equivalents.

    The two arent even linked!

Most of the news comes from the Associated Press or Reuters (World news). There is hardly going to be a press release about the military industrial complex having an influence in popular culture, just to piss everyone off, are they?

.... Which is why you never get any news stories about the war in iraq being started on false pretences, that were proven to be an outright lie, and then conveniently forgotten about.

Tsk Tsk.... why not debate the issue, instead of resorting to internet pot shots.

I'd love for you to pick me up on what i've said, and show me how im wrong.

Theres been hundreds if not thousands of stories on the matter. They don't disappear because of a shadowy organisation, they disappear because the readership gets bored of reading about it everyday and wants something new to moan about. We all know that governement release stories to bury others but on the whole, the readership dictates the contents of the paper.

People dont read about Lady Gaga because the CIA has decided they will, they read about Lady Gaga because its an escape from everyday life.

I'm looking forward to the day you announce that the government introduced e's to the public to curb the escalation of football violence in the early 90s.

that vid is an interesting mix of far right and socialist thinking. You have the whacko republican who thinks that the US has 'totally lost' it's sovereignty and that the dollar has been replace by Amerinds and the whole 9/11 conspiracy thing coupled with the idea that people conditioned to act alone are easily manipulated by the rich and powerful and that only collective action can save them.
I do think the tracking chips shit is heading our way though. They just need to frighten us with terrorist bogeymen and we seem keen to just give up our freedoms without protest. One little bit at a time our freedoms are going.

Each new generation starts from the freedom they knew when they were growing up. The present generation will come to see spy cameras on every corner and routine state surveillance of phone and internet use as normal. Chips are just the next logical step on that road.

anybody from the 60's or 70's looking at the abuse of our freedoms by the state would not believe the present situation could possibly exist in the UK. They just wouldn't believe a free people would have given it all up without a fight
