Yeah he said straight away in the post fight press conference that they had both made a verbal commitment for a rematch and that he thought shogun pissed it aswell, had a go at the judges aswell alex ferguson style so he will probably get a bollicking off the athletic commision

105 next month will be rigged too as its mostly British fighters and its in Manchester

Its rigged as far as mismatchs go, most the British lads are fighting blokes who arent on the same level, dont see the juding being rigged though if it goes to decisions

Hmm this was very, very difficult to score. I had Machida just about winning the first 2 rounds, Shogun nicking the 3rd, clearly winning the 4th and couldnt decide on the 5th. If Shogun's hand had been raised i wouldnt have been suprised at all. The thing that got me is how Machida got the UD. I scored the fight level but even with my opinion im obviously in the minority so it surpises me that at least one of them didnt give Shogun the nod. A split decision for either fighter would have been a fairer result for me.

Hopefully the rematch will settle the score with one of them winning decisively. Leaving it in the judges hands is the worst thing in boxing & mma.

It was close, but also wasn't lol, i've had a few pints so bear with me. Most of Machidas strikes especially in the first 2 rounds, hit nothing but glove, so yes he was returning strikes, but they shouldn't have counted.

Theres reason for debate throughout the whole fight. Every round could have went either way apart from the 4th where it was all Shogun. Shogun even said himself that he dropped the first 2 so he should have done more going into the 5th, thinking he was level up untill that point. He was in control, Machida was gassing out yet he didnt do anything to seal the fight and take the title. Same goes for Machida. He must have knew it was a very close fight yet he did nothing to knick the 5th. There was no plan b. By the end of the 4th the alarm bells must have been ringing. He never tried to take the fight to the ground once. Imagine if he took Shogun down like he did when he fought Ortiz and finished with a little flurry of gnp. He was lucky this time. The next fight will be interesting. Shogun's kicks were the problem for Machida if he doesnt find a way to deal with them hes in for another long night.

I got a £65 ticket but that was the day they were released

Dan i think your one of 5 people on every message board i've been on thats gave machida anything, he was pathetic. Shogun had aggression, octagon control, was the only one to attempt a takedown, won every little battle between the two lol.

Those stats dont really tell a full story either way though. A fighter could win 3 rounds by a small margin with both landing the same ammount then get outstruck by a massive ammount in the other 2 rounds yet he'd still win the fight.

I dont see the point in us having to justify our opinions anyway. Different things catch other peoples eye in fights. Like i said earlier i had the fight about even - yet most are saying thats being generous to Machida so overall its safe to say Shogun was very unlucky. Hopefully, when they fight again, one of them will win decisively so we wont be having this conversation next time.

Changing the subject a bit but whens Silva fighting Belfort? Should be a good scrap. I reckon Silva will take this but Belfort will definitely give him a good go!

Possibly January 2nd but silvas had surgery on his elbow so it hasnt been confirmed yet, its looks like thats when Lesnar and Carwin will fight now aswell
