    isnt cashing in and selling out pretty much the same thing? his commercial butchery of ghosts and stuff is proof of that.

    No 'Selling Out' is when you change or adapt YOUR personal taste in music for the want of making money...

    DJ Dictonary under names Jules, Judge & Oakenfold, Paul.

    Not Selling out is keeping YOUR personal taste in music the same even if it means you lose money and popularity.

    DJ Dictonary under Jay, Norman & Sasha.

    Ill forgive you tho your new to all this.

    I saw him earlier on in the year... I only went as my mate had a spare ticket, as I didn't really know who he was and he was pretty boring!! Everything he played sounded the same apart from the ones with vocals in.

    I assumed the DJ anoraks just got jealous when a DJ started to become popular and making money, and started to say he/she was selling out ???

    I would def say cox has sold out, IMO he's wank now like and plays nothin like he use to but that style of techno has fallen by the wayside so he's taken on a new style to keep people interested but all the old clubbers are gutted :mad:

    Deadmau5 is shite like, fair play to the bloke he's absolutely massive like and the o2 was a sell out but his music is fuckin crap.

    That sort of crowd could hear one of the best sets ever but if it isn't the headliner there not interested, I thought proudy done well, 3 hours is a long slog like especially playin a genre your not use to. It was the same with people like Jules many moons ago when he did his uni tours and hardwick warmed up for him but loads of twats used to chant "we want the judge" while harwick was delivering a nail on head warm up.

    :lol:from the 1st post, I liked all of proudys set bar 1 mix, losing 1 mix in 3 hours isn't bad like.

    Is that possibly due to 'artistic development' or just a change in what he likes and not just selling out?

    I think its funny you've just slagged off DJs for going with music trends and then licked Proudys balls for playing a genre he doesnt normal play/get booked for

    I wouldnt say deadmau5 has sold out (he has always played shit commercial stuff as far as im aware?) but he is very gimmicky and had gained the majority of his popularity through hype which is just as bad...specially when hes raking it in off doing DJ sets after slagging DJ's off. On the plus side he might have got a few more people into dance music, who will then hopefully find the good stuff and stop listening to this tossers music..

    :lol::lol: bang to rights

    You could say that, with proudy he was offered a massive gig while he's trying to break through and make a career as a dj and it was one gig. I said I thought he done well but anyone starting out would have taken that gig. I wouldn't say one gig warming up for an international artist as selling out, especially when he's warmed up at gods and goodgreef playin tech house in the past.

    With cox i didn't explain myself that clear...again, I personally think he's wank now coz of his genre change, I think he's done this because the old style of techno he played is now something very few play who you would have associated with that style.

    His night in Ibiza would have went a bit down hill had he not changed and looked to book new artists within this new style of techno, I don’t like cox dj wise now because what I’ve heard from him is the more commercial end of it and this is why I think he’s sold out a bit coz he plays loads of cheesy stuff now which is a lot worse than the cheesy stuff he played when playin harder techno.
