    Deadmau5 Tonight.

aye, i'd thought i'd really enjoy it - which i did. however i couldent really escape his rhetoric on DJ's - so therefore i was always boarderline annoyed at everything he was doing. me and fidd's were basically staying middle aged and complaining about the whole affair until 'the reward is cheese' came on and then i'm afraid the drink took over and i took my leave

all in all, proudy played a better set. and the uni student wankers that threw a pint off him didnt really deserve to be in that crowd.

----thats another thing. the crowd was absolutely full of checky shirt uni student punters who wouldent know their tech house from middle english orchestral new age jazz. pathetic. i mean i was thinking the deeper dancefloor would be packed, but not a full on mosh pit to 'ghosts and stuff' i mean come the fuck on.

it just proves that Deadmau5 is raking SO much money in from his tour gigs, and is going to be another tiesto in terms the gig's he creates. he was good... but i couldent really get myself over the cliche (and the 3.50 cans) that he was turning into a 'superstar DJ'. which in turn ruined it slightly for me because i've loved pretty much all his productions. shame really.

all in all, for the 3 long hours that he played (bar 1 mix IMO) proudy played the better set. he just didnt have the ridicuals lighting or mousehead to back him up.

thats my 2 cents worth on it :)

Sounds like you had a good night then

I like his productions, I just can't be arsed with his live sets. He seems to be very hit and miss. The first time I saw him was apalling, the second time was alright, but the crowd that follow him do get on your tits.

Glad to hear proudy gave a good account of himself... Not sure why some stupid twat lobbed a drink at him though.

i fucking hate students. and very much dislike deadmau5. he will ruin the scene if he gets more popular as like kieren said the dirty students dont know music and they will end up at nights were we go and be cocks there just the same way that when the boat and ikon closed loads of charves over took digital,

good work on your set proudy, shame about the cock throwing a pint, but it just goes to show my point

Cheers for the comments lads, personally (as also stated in the events sec.) I had an absolutely amazing night. Not really sure about the drink throwing incident as I left the O2 Acadmey bone dry (apart from suffering from a lttile Disco Persperation of course) but I'll take your word for it as my mates also reported a similar story when id finished playing. Thankfully what ever was thrown never reached my or the Mau5's set up as we were both playing off Laptops... which could have ended the night in disaster.

Was nice to catch up with some old faces from here too!

Exactly. A Monday night around student loan time in a student dominated city like Newcastle = students.

Aye it was alright like, some points in his set were tedious as fuck like. I was also half hoping proudy would drop a kearney track at some point, just to sort the men from the boys like

I'm in total agreement with Mistak.... I'll probably take a bashing for this but..... take away the visuals, lighting and mouse mask gimmick and you're left with a pretty dull evening. Not impressed and afraid to say it's an example of someone riding off the back of a brand name and crowds of people following like drones. The only track I have any time for is his remix of the longest road but most of his productions sound the same in my opinion.

Loads of non-clubbers and far too many cock-end students with festival style pint throwing antics (feeling sorry for Gary on that one) plus a general air of un-easiness in the atmosphere from early doors. I brushed past someone near the front and got the whole 'here man you've spilt me pint' verbal, not to mention my mate nick got spat on then punches were thrown for no reason. Just not a nice crowd apart from the various peeps off here.

The O2 for Orbital a few weeks back was a much better event, a live band that I've loved for years, the atmosphere and everything else was a whole nicer experience from start to finish, loads of friendly clubbers enjoying the music in jeans and t-shirts and no stupid clueless bints ponsing around with 6 inch heels and gucci dresses going 'eeee look at me like, a dunno who this dead mouse fella is like, is he gonna play ghosts n stuff'.
