Newcastle is not too bad compared to a lot of other cities, or at least it didnt use to be. But its pretty horrendous at the minute cos theres so many roadworks.

not a good idea, i would try to avoid rush hour all together. Getting in and out of town takes a prety long time during rush hour so i would try to leave earlier to avoid rush hour!!!!!!!:groovy:  :groovy:  :groovy:

I can probably help you there since i live in that general area.. the rush hour only really affects the City Centre and Gateshead, and the surrounding roads. Once you get to the north of the city centre tho, it's pretty much plain sailing.. the central mototway is usually ok between town and Cowgate roundabout, and Ponteland Road isnt bad.. get past Kenton Bar Roundabout and the big roundabout over the A1 near Kingston Park and you're clear all the way to the airport.

Drop me a PM with some details on where you need to get to and I'll help you out where possible

The city is usually busiest on a friday afternoon , all the peeps with half day finishes and the like, friday evenings don't seem to be that bad.

    ;)

Since the roadworks between RVI and Cowgate are finished it aint as bad now.. if traffic is heavy I get back in under 20 mins. The only bottleneck is at Kenton Bar and the Kingston Park roundabout with the A1 traffic, but my route avoids that :).

Gio, I'm guessing you're either coming into the city centre to get to Promise and park nearby, or coming in via the city centre to get to your destination, either way I can give you the shortest route and the roads to avoid, so gimme a shout if you need some help :)
