    Swine Flu

    Anyone starting to get worried?

It hasn't bothered me until I received a letter from the young'ns school to say 2 pupils have been confirmed as having it, someone my mam works with and now the partner of my senior at work has it. There is apparently 156 confirmed cases of it in Washington

Now that someone without "underlying health problems" has died with it im starting to get a bit worried!!!

Purvy & Co have just came back from MX's stag last week & one of the lads has been in Hospital since with it, really scary when it's directly linked to a group you socialise with.

Killed a GP today & a lad with no previous medical problems just last week.

Death toll now at 16 apparently.

People took the piss a few months back but this will get worse before it gets better, more healthy people will die through this mark my words.

Bad crack. A few of us were ill and had to take Tamiflu due to one of the lads being struck down which made the majority feel worse but better safe than sorry. The doc's didnt even test us just put us straight onto medication as we all shared rooms, water and so on so they didnt want to take any chances.
My mate got struck down in Spain so you just never know. Very worrying imo he just got out of hospital on friday.

I think i had it a few weeks back.

Now this sounds like some massive claim, but it really is just a regular flu at the moment ... its not actually that special compared to seasonal flu. Theres thousands and thousands of people in London with it at the moment who just get the symptoms, take some time off, and then make a full and normal recovery.

The 'fear' is at the moment that this strain will combine with something more nasty, and you'll get the infectiousness of this strain, mixed with the danger of other strains.

For what its worth, you can kill this one in a few days by taking massive doses of vitamin c (1000-4000mg an HOUR), echinacea and also colloidal/ionic silver. Mine lasted about 2 days and i went through the full spectrum of symptoms in that time. The problem is that alot of people dont treat their illness properly and just let it linger about in their system for days without the means to fight it.

Yeah like you say its just Flu atm basically. The doc's said that my mate was vunerable anyway due to having ashma etc. Just one of those things lets just hope it doesnt become a nastier strain.

I will do mate. He seems to be okay now apart from still being a little chesty from the infection on his lung. He rang me when he was still in quarantine and was full of a crack which is always a good sign.

Those tablets seemed to have worked with me and made me feel loads better.
You don't expect stuff like that to happen to yourself.

The NHS and other authorities arent concerned at the minute as more people die of normal flu compaired to how many have died so far with swine, what is worrying them is when we get to September/October and the virus starts to mutate it could be deadly for the healthiest of people!!

Mick - hope ya pal is OK, my mam and young'n have asthma which is worrying me, not too worried about myself aslong as they are ok!

The NHS is massively concerned with it. There is a huge amount of work going on throughout the whole structure. Over the next couple of weeks there will be Antiviral collection points opening up all over the country and a phoneline with around 3000 handlers answering calls.

If you are determined to be showing flulike symptoms you will be given a code which you will give to a friend and they will pick up the drugs from the APC. The NHS are taking staff from all departments and retraining them to work at the centres, to say they aren't worried couldn't be further from the truth.

The NHS have stopped testing for swine flu and are giving te drugs without any confirmation of the person having swine flu as opposed to seasonal flu. It's estimated that around 30% of the population will be treated with the antivirals.

    aye.
On friday at work we had to send home 4 people with it, all have since been to the doctors and had it confirmed. Thats just out of my team and the team next to us, so its like 4 people out of 20 have it.

Is scary how quickly it seems to have spread, though for most it is only like a heavy flu and isnt too dangerous unless theres any other factors.

Mick - Woody was also telling me about Andy at work today mate, pass on my regards too, couldnt believe it when he was telling me. Glad he sounds like hes on the mend though

I would think VERY hard before taking any of these vaccines and anti viral drugs.

There is always a small percentage of people who get sick and die in reaction to these things, and also remember that the vaccine they are pimping is for THIS strain and not for the one 'coming'.

Aren't the Tamiflu tablets just strong anti-biotics?
They've definately made me feel loads better, does this mean I could get it again when this new strain comes along?
I'm gonna have to live in a fucking bubble or something, I've lost loads of commision at work being off last week.

Nope they are anti virals ... all they do is reduce the amount of time it takes to recover from it by a day or so.

Personally i'd rather go to prison than take a swine flu vaccine. I'll bet 20 quid right now that a load of people die or get very ill after taking this experimental vaccine.

You cant confirm it unless you have swabs analysed.

Doctors are diagnosing it from confirming a set number of symptoms and then basically saying 'yeah you have it'.
