Viva Music boss and champion of all things dark brings the drums back to Shindig this week. Renowned for his hard working attitude and unmatched technical ability to produce and play only the best quality house music to an almost devoted following of fans.

Having recently exploited heavy-duty percussion and techno on classic labels R&S Records and Mark Romboy’s ridiculously successful Systematic Recordings, the pioneer of twisted house has been meandering through deep and dark through to sexy vocal tracks with a newfound sense of progression. It’s music for boys and girls - cool enough for the boys but sexy enough for the girls. Still evolving, and still redefining boundaries - progression not to be confused with the term progressive…

As a child of the Acid House generation; ‘21st Century Ketchup’ on Ali Dubfire’s much lauded Sci+Tec was a run away success last year and ‘Femme Fatale’ on Josh Wink’s legendary Ovum was one of the summer’s heaviest underground hitters. What’s more, these records alongside his label Viva Music’s output dispense with the standard template and look towards clean new European sounds for inspiration.Viva Music..Viva Shindig..

    Support from Scott Bradford.

Poker Flat Recordings long-term label artist Vincenzo Ragone visits Shindig’s new Terrace Bar this Saturday. Shindig is proud to welcome alongside resident Mark Lowry, Vincenzo’s versatility as a producer and healthy open-minded attitude to djing…his own music belongs somewhere in the middle of these two extremes. No surprise then that his recent EP for Dessous, ‘The Resident,’ picked up big support from the likes of Steve Bug and Laurent Garnier: proof once more that this traditionally-underground House and Techno is here to stay.

He has worked with some of the most important producers and labels yet he maintains a humble existence, In fact, he shouldn’t be so humble, as his records, both old and new, are consistently played and charted by a spectrum of Djs that most producers could only dream of…

Official Pre Club Bar at Tokyo , Westgate Rd.

The Terrace Bar: Vincenzo (Poker Flat)

Poker Flat Recordings long-term label artist Vincenzo Ragone visits Shindig’s intimate Terrace Bar this Saturday as Steve Lawler rocks the main room..Having had a pivotal role at Dessous for almost a decade now with his weighty precise percussion and morphing synths, Vincenzo’s deep house and techno is wrapped in his trademark impeccable production.

An artist who has such talent, style and longevity is a rare creature nowadays… and Italo-German Vincenzo Ragone, known to the House world as Vincenzo, is indeed one of these special creatures! Hard to track down and often a man of the night, Ragone has been casting his deep and truly one-of-a-kind takes on House and Techno out into the ether for well over a decade.

Vincenzo was a true child of the Acid House explosion, and one of an original cast of Hamburg based Djs and Producers, hanging out and collaborating with friends who would later become some of the trend setting icons of the present - notably Poker Flat’s future ringmaster Steve Bug offered him some crucial gigs at the revered ‘Reduced’ parties at Hamburg’s ‘Front’ Club! From here on the star in the making went on to produce his first ever productions for the Raw Elements label, alongside Sandro Catallo in 1995, and then released his first ever solo tracks with the label in ‘97.Read More..

Vincenzo alongside Steve Lawler plays this Saturday 13th June @ Shindig - Digital Newcastle

Fucking quality line up, the biggest problem is going to be missing one or the other - likely to be Vincenzo that gets missed in the main as Lawler is nailed on to bray the main room.

    Looking forward to it

This should be fucking class. I've seen Lawler a good 4 or 5 times now and I can honestly say I've never seen him play a set short of amazing. Really looking forward to it.
