Its the same as what happened when newcastle was supposed to host the love parade. Due to some twat in an office probably they decided not to sign a bit of paper which stopped it going ahead at the last min.

would the 2nd date have the same line up thou ?

Unfortunately it is true and for reasons beyond our control this saturdays Detox event has had to be postponed until further notice, official statement to come later today !

Thimbleberry it is then with system for 2 days of Raving/sound teching.

Hope everything get sorted for the new date not the 12th of Dec though as we are are doing a party then.

It is a massive shame, for all involved.

Hopefully a reschedule date can be sorted, but I hope it is not the 12th December as well as I am away that weekend!

DETOX is very sorry to announce due to circumstances way beyond their control that this Saturday’s Alchemy event is being postponed and moved to a later date.

Without going into a full blown synopsis of the reason behind this decision which we stress has not been taken lightly and without a great deal of consideration we would like to shed a little light on the situation. Earlier this week we were asked by the local authorities to implement a number of significant changes to safeguard the health and safety of higher than expected numbers of people attending the event. As we understand it this request was made primarily due to an unprecedented surge in ticket sales which the local authorities felt would culminate in a huge number of people trying to gain access to the event without tickets, a situation that in their opinion would not be sustainable due to the capacity limit and advance “ticket only” nature of the event. Needless to say, we have explored every avenue open to us given these recent requests in order to try and satisfy these requests and make the event still happen this Saturday. However, given the extremely short time period of 2days which we have been given to carry out certain structural changes and health and safety procedures in relation to the unique venue, it is clearly not viable for the event to proceed this Saturday.

However:

RE-TOX – ALCHEMY (the return) is now planned to take place late November/early December: with the same advertised line up.

All event tickets (including coach option) that have been purchased from private sources will be valid for the new date.

Any individual who is requiring a refund in the interim should return the ticket to the place of purchase and they will be fully refunded (less shop booking fee)

We apologise unreservedly for the response to this event resulting in it ultimately becoming a victim of its own success.

Thanks for the info the council can be total *unts when they want to be as we found running nights and doing sound at the coop.

Best not to take any risk poeple at partys as i remember the old days when they used to stuff as many poeple as possible into venues(such as the venue) and it was never a fun experience especially with the cold water taps turned off and also recently 2 nye's ago at the coop when the bouncers decided to let too many poeple into it.

Looking foreward to the new date give me a bell mate when all the ho har settles down.
