Some people could say that clubland is dying, I wouldn't say that's the case at all. Clubbers have wised up a hell of alot in the last year, it's not a case you dont get any many people clubbing anymore, more of a case people are wising up and putting money where their mouth is.

it's not about elistist door prices and dress codes anymore, ultimatelty it's all about having fun. Unfortunately some clubs have cashed in on taking advantage of this and prostituted themselves for that extra pound and people are starting to realise some clubs are more up their own arses than the clubbers that go to the club!

Take Gatecrasher for example, the managment have seriously disconnected itself for it's faithful, the common bond just isn't there anymore. The club is drifting along, grasping onto anything it can to keep itself going, using every marketing ploy in the book to big themselves up when inactual fact, let's face it, it's on its arse. It's all about shifting the merchandise in the back office, anything else is a bonus. Djs on rotation week in week out, or in gatecrashers case, month in month out, it's all a tad reptative, the money isn't going back into the club which it so should be. If the clubbers voice and money isn't appreciated then hell they are going to go elsewhere there's no 2 ways about it, there is a life beyond gatecrasher, you just have to open your eyes, your pound is very much valued and appreciated elsewhere if you look.

Then take clubs such as base, parvlezvous, housewife choice, tidy and frantic but a few, they have it just right and that is definately showing in their attendance numbers.

It's not the clubs that are necessarily dying it's just simply clubland politics. Gatecrasher again a prime example with oakes and raine. All I can say to them is, don't shit on people on your way up because you might very well need them on your way down! Gatecrasher are always known for doing it alone, like it is better than anybody else in the business, wrong. Now, we have seen coloborations with Tidytrax for events such as SSS and NEC especially which you wouldn't have seen before. why now? let's face it, they need the money, they are stink! and at no fault but their own.

I'm fearing Sundissential is starting to go the same way, having not been to north in ages, I was there on sunday, had a fantastic time as always when I've been, but having spoke to some people it is very much started to go downhill and people are starting to get sick of the repetative style. Only time will tell, but madders and danny should certainly see gatecrasher as an example of what not to do in the future or it will end up the same way.

At the end of the day, the clubber should be heard and seen or they wont be seen at all!, you have to give something back to the clubber, make it feel welcomed, listen to their suggestions even if you can not always fullfill them, not keep people in the dark to what's going on..

It's all about the music, not the pound!

On the subject of GC, I heard from a very reliable source that Republic is up for sale (as well as Bed BTW). I wonder if that will spell the end of GC @ Republic?

Tis a shame if you ask me, The Republic made GC what it is IMHO - it is one of the best designed night clubs I've ever been to.

Yuo exactly, the club is merely drifting along, and the only time it ever pulls its finger out of its arse when it's absolutely necessary, i.e when godskitchen does something, gets the right reaction so gatecrasher has to do the same in return to keep up

Gatecrasher use to take the chance, run the risk, try something new, now it simply can't afford to do that, or should that be it's just too scared to, just incase they lose out altogether, which is how it's going to go from how I see it

2 years time, the republic won't be there, it will have the same fate as the que club! It will been knocked down and turned into flats. That's my prediction

Or a big leisure org will buy it maybe? I can think of a couple that want venues in Sheffield.

I think Nation (former Cream HQ) is for grabs as well so if we all chip in we can have our own clubbing empire by the weekend.

I think there scared more than anything. They tried somet different at the white nite with the third room but when they were gona do it for the summerslam every1 had a moan so they scraped it! Havin Kai Tracid on at the Black n White Ball is a gud change but Crasher is copyin woth other trance clubs ie Gods and Promise have already done. They is now followin rather than leading!

In reply to the original question. mark uses the message board so he obviously cares what we think. if he like the idea too then he tries his best to sort it out and normally happens. which is tres cool. :D

i think this helps keep promise successful as tidyshaun mentioned cos mark keeps connected with the punters. you can even catch him ravin with us in the crowd sometimes. :D :D :D

Yep. After the Black n White Ball he will have played at all ov the last 6 GC events which has started 2 get repetitive. Diversity is the way forward not havin the same DJs play the same records all the time

Isn't Sundissential the self proclaimed 'People Champion' & doesn't it 'love its members' ?

diversity might be the way forward, and yes it is good to see some other dj's like Rank1 and kai tracid at crasher, but alot of us ppl who go GC want armin as a resident! he never plays shite & produces excellent sets!! thats probably why hes played at the last 6 events?!

im not gonna complain if he is made a rsident!:D
