    Eclectricity Warehouse Party!
@ Space 2 (The Custard Factory Warehouse), Digbeth, Birmingham

    Saturday 14th February 2009

    Featuring…..
    FELIX DA HOUSECAT
    EROL ALKAN
    ANNIE MAC
    JAMES ZABIELA
    RITON

Eclectricity continues to bring the biggest electronic music acts to the second city. No musical boundaries or specific genres…. Just world class acts throwing a party for Birmingham’s more discerning music lovers and party goers. For our first party of 2009 we have selected Space 2 (The Custard Factory Warehouse) which is the 1,600 capacity disused engineering warehouse on the Custard Factory Complex.

This one off party features the long awaited return to Birmingham of the don that is FELIX DA HOUSECAT…Chicago based two-time Grammy Award nominated DJ/Producer/Remixer and innovator of the current electro rave sound. Felix has remixed platinum artists including Madonna, Marilyn Manson, Nina Simone, Garbage, and Kylie Minogue and headlined clubs, festivals, and special events around the world as an A list DJ in his own right.

Joining Felix on the night is another legend of equal stature…. EROL ALKAN!
Erol is a London-based electro DJ of Turkish descent who has remixed tracks for artists such as Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers, Scissor Sisters, Justice, Franz Ferdinand and produced albums for The Mystery Jets and Late of the Pier. Erol Alkan is a lynchpin in the electro scene uniting both underground and more mainstream audiences with dynamic crossover sounds that mix pop and indie with gritty electro and techno to devastating effect. Erol recently got voted the UK’s number 1 DJ in the datatransmission and Pioneer UK top 40 online poll which had over 30,000 votes and placed him above acts such as Sasha and Carl Cox. A true testament to his wide appeal in what is normally a very predefined hierarchy of the usual household names…. It will have been a year since Erol has graced Birmingham and there is much anticipation about his return!

Added to this monster bill is radio ones first lady of rave… the legendary ANNIE MAC! Annie is one of the most accomplished and recognised DJ’s of recent times. Her Friday night “Mash Up” radio show on BBC Radio 1 has reached cult status and she is one of the few acts that have managed to balance mainstream appeal but still maintain their roots with the underground. Her music policy is completely eclectic so matches the vibe of Eclectricity down to a T. Whether it be house, disco, electronic, breaks, drum n bass or whatever else…if it sounds good and gets people moving… she will play it!

In true Eclectricity fashion, we have also decided to throw in a bit of a curve ball into the line up to in the form of JAMES ZABIELA to keep things fresh and add a different dimension to the already huge bill of talent. From the beginnings of winning a bedroom DJ competition, things have skyrocketed and propelled James into the top ranks of DJ’s. Armed with his fully loaded laptop, effects units CD’s and other box of tricks James has created his own place on the scene. On the production front he has remixed the likes of Ladytron, Royksopp and Depeche Mode.

To complete an awesome line up, Eclectricity are also proud to present the return of RITON, a somewhat up and coming head on the scene who is a very experienced DJ has a long history of awesome productions; notably remixing the likes of Human League, Mylo, Scissor Sisters, and Soulwax. We look forward to welcoming him back!

The last Eclectricity warehouse party sold out well in advance so advance ticket purchase is highly recommended to avoid disappointment….

What better way to celebrate Valentines Day than to go to a massive rave up in big disused warehouse? WHO SAID ROMANCE IS DEAD?!!!!

If I wanted to see them, I'd go to wax on next time they're on up here, instead of travelling all the way down to birmingham to go in a wank club and pay extortionate entry & drinks prices.

    Advertising fail.

in fairness, that is an absolutely belting line up, and the chances of wax on putting all of those people on the same bill up here are absolutely zero. If I wasn't suffering the post christmas financial meltdown, i'd want to go down there myself
