It used to get absolutely rammed back when it first opened. Queue's used to be ridiculous. I remember the first time I went there, dropped in the queue and I'd come up then back down again before I even got in the place.

This was 8 or 9 years ago now. Back then it was any excuse to have them.

    I also hated the place.

I used to go to Baja most nights from a Thur, fuck knows why now when i think about it...

What's it closing down for is it losing to much money or is it getting knocked down?

Venue wise i think it has potential, id love to see some decent nights in there after a refurb :)

From what I heard that whole area is getting re-developed hence why the Boat has gone. Think that oil refinery place is going too. More houses or offices I would imagine.

Theres a £10m office development going where the boat was, and Ive heard a 'super club' is being built next to Baja by Luminar Leisure (people who have Liquid)

Cheese wise I've been to about less than 10 nights, the worst without a doubt being Blu Bambu and Evolve.

I had many a good night on the boat when I started going out and didn't know any better. I'm quite shocked at Baja closing it used to be the place to go when I was at school/6th form.

Baja used to turn over around £250k per week, which for a club is amazing.

Quite a sad state of affairs, and an example of the current market when its now forced to close

I wouldn't want to be building offices at the moment like. The ones in the same building as our flat have been empty for months, and the ones on grey street are all 'to let' as well.
