I think Ame have proved that they are pretty handy on the old ones and twos..Mixing is a proper lesson in music and this one looks the same kind of vibe.
hope its better than lucianos effort... Zimmermann tracks are creaping up on everyones mix albums recently! respect!
I don't get why you and Jase are always whining on about mixes with "only 10 tracks in an hour" - sometimes I like to hear a good portion of a track I like. Of course it's great when dj's squeeze as many tracks as possible in their sets and show a bit of creativity. I've heard loads of great sets with only 12 or so tracks stuck in an hour though and, fair enough, plenty of shit ones too. But the same goes for sets with 30 tunes crammed into 80mins. Regardless of the quantity of tracks, as long as it's what I want to hear, I'll listen.
Hes got some reyt tunes, On Drumzz and Dawing Voice are ace.. but yeah, whats the crack with hating on Luciano?
If anyone wanted to know where the set is from its from We Love Sundays at Space Ibiza from the 13th of this month.
thanks for dragging me in to this thread, its not my preferred music, so i'm not going to comment on that. on longer tracks, the first minute or even 2 is usually filler, and the end minute or 2 is usually filler. its the easiest part of the track to mix with. usually stripped down perc, little in the bass line, no really obtrusive harmonies to mess with you. if you see a mix with 17+ tracks in 80 minutes, its usually because the tracks have been mixed together much closer together - you then have the keys, perc patterns, rhythms and harmonies to look out for. hence we 'whine' when we see released mixes looking like they could be a bit bland. the last time i mentioned it was with deadmau5 for the essential mix, and he mixes with Ableton, and with his own music - so it wasn't exactly a major challenge for him really, was it? im pleased a lot of djs still think you have to start each track from beat 1. im also glad i dont have to listen to them. that is all
Saw Áme this weekend at Basics can honestly say it was the best night of house music Ive ever been to since Foundation was open. Brilliant..
Seen ame at global on the friday and the mixmag stage got a good old rinsing, one of the highlights of the weekend for me.
Woh Woh! I am not a Luciano hater! I have huge resepct for him. I have seen him at DC10 aswell as Digital with Richards (attended even when he didn't too!). I was just hugely dissapointed with his Fabric CD effort, I guess I was expecting more dark techy minimal stuff but it was more housey. all IMO of course
reckon ive listened to this mix about 20 times, the first 7 tracks are an unreal combination. :groovy: looking forward to playing out that Matthew Styles one, proper killer.
