taking key Promotion down 1-2 days before someones event = killing newcastle

BUT, starting new nights is not killing newcastle if those people have always been passionate about a certain type of music they wish to push.

whereas bandwagoning and style biting the genres that are 'cool' for several months in an effort to make a quick buck or enhance ones dj status IS

i see you still have not sussed the intent of my posts a week on

regardless of your opinion (s), 99% of what i said last week will come to pass within the next 12 - 18months

    :) :) :)

Therefore with us getting signed to the massive minmal label Tic Tac Toe in 2006 before any MNML night was started here and producing and DJing /minimal techno around the UK and now europe and having our tracks played on radio 1/ german fritz radio and every DJ we have brought here has either remixed/played/loved our own music surely leaves us out ouf the bandwagon jumping equation......somehow I think you will still argue otherwise.....

Me and Nick also booked Richard Fearless (Death In Vegas) to play a minimal/detroit techno set back in February 2006, not long after his Fabric mix. I think Error started the summer of 2006 (we were both at the first one) but thats not the issue. All I think Nick is trying to get across it that its hardly bandwagon jumping, when we've been making/playing that style of music for years ourselves :cool2:

yeah they did. our record was signed before they set up - anyways the fact is that we are not jumping any bandwagons, far far from it.

Neither are we. I dont understand why you think jaunt is just a techno night? We book people we want to see play, as you can see from the last jaunt, whether it be house or techno.
And as far as making a quick buck goes we havent made any money yet and anything that is made will be put back into booking bigger people. If we were in it to make money i dont think 7 people would have got involved.

ooooo back of the net mate!

your further contradicting yourself again mate, apparently according to you there are too many nights in newcastle and that is killing it...

    ..HOWEVER...

..your off the hook for "killing" the club scene if your passionate about the music? come on - sort it out mate, you silly sausage

can we have examples of nights that have promoters that arent passionate about the event they run please? i'm sure they'd love to argue against it.

imagine someone coming up to you melt and saying:

"here mate - your just a pure leech on the proverbial arse cheek of newcastles bustling club scene, your only in it for the money"

that, not in so many words, is what your saying about all this minimal malarky.

mabey its just a case of the followers of this genre wanting to do it for themselves for the crack, and mabey turn over 'minimal' profits - and for the bettering of clubland.

or you, the overlord of all genres and clubbing in the north east, might be right - but i seriously doubt it and serious hope not either.

see you at detox darling

Anyone notice the House and Techno room at Detox with Error, Freaky Dancing & Habit residents?

Over saturation if you ask me, I was happy with Error, Freaky Dancing, Habit and that Jaunt night but now we've got detox cashing in aswell.

    All about the ££££

Throw on a few big Hard House/Trance names to pull in the rajis and stick some minimal in the back room. Textbook promoters trick.

ha ha, goes to show - it swings in roundabouts like, and whats to say that melt himself is jumping on said 130bpm bandwagon?

detox for 12 hours = money from tickets and 12 hours solid of pure consumerism. ££££'s to the max

but tbf i'd rather him be making the money and putting the event on - because its looking like a fucking wicked day

    too right chad felllla

sound mate..tbh power tool jst sounds bitter as fuck.. not sure why he has such a problem with 'trendy nights' aka ones that dont play hard house to a load of charvers. fair play to people who start their own nights its not for the money and there is a lot or work involved. If theres too many nights in town the good nights will keep going and the poorer ones will fall by the wayside..
